    Position Overview:

    The Yard Manager will lead on-site yard operations for Circle Logistics, supporting the movement of finished vehicles at a Ford Motor Company facility. This role is responsible for the efficient staging, movement, and off-site transportation of completed Sprinter vans.

    We are seeking a candidate with a strong asset-based transportation background (carrier, fleet, or terminal operations) who can confidently manage drivers, enforce processes, and operate independently in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. This position requires a high level of accountability, initiative, and professionalism, as the role operates with minimal onsite oversight.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Oversee daily yard operations, including staging, parking, and dispatch readiness of finished vehicles

    Supervise yard drivers/spotters during loading to ensure proper procedures are followed

    Confirm VINs and verify accurate bay locations before loading

    Prepare and distribute load sheets and Bills of Lading (BOLs) to drivers

    Partner closely with transportation/dispatch teams to prioritize loads and ensure on-time departures

    Maintain accurate, real-time yard inventory and visibility of all units

    Provide daily reporting to the Detroit office, including: VINs loaded, Damage holds, Missing units, Operational updates

    Act as the on-site liaison between the 3PL, Ford Motor Company plant operations, and carrier partners

    Monitor vehicle condition and enforce proper handling procedures to prevent damage

    Optimize yard flow and layout to minimize delays and congestion

    Ensure compliance with safety standards, DOT regulations, and plant protocols

    Qualifications:

    3+ years of experience in asset-based transportation operations (carrier, fleet, terminal, or yard management)

    Proven experience managing drivers and operating in high-volume yard or terminal environments

    Strong understanding of dispatch coordination, load planning, and equipment utilization

    Ability to establish authority and effectively manage driver behavior and performance

    Experience working independently with minimal supervision; a high level of trust and accountability required

    Long-term mindset with a desire for stability and growth within the role

    Familiarity with transportation or yard management systems preferred

    Experience with TP Pro preferred

    Proficiency in Gmail and basic reporting tools
