Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to support warehouse and production operations on 1st shift. This role involves handling, packaging, and banding building materials such as siding and decking products in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and dressing appropriately for changing weather conditions.
This is currently the company's busy season, and they are looking for dependable, motivated individuals who are ready to work in a physically active environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and put away incoming materials in proper locations
- Pick, stage, package, and band building materials for shipment
- Load and unload trucks as needed
- Assist with handling siding, decking, and other building products
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts (if certified)
- Maintain accurate inventory through system updates and physical movement
- Ensure materials meet quality standards before shipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with general warehouse duties including removing debris and organizing materials
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1–2 years of warehouse or material handling experience preferred
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the shift
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to use handheld scanners or warehouse systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required
**Work Environment & **Schedule
- 1st shift (Monday–Friday; hours may vary based on workload)
- Warehouse and outdoor yard environment
- Physical role requiring lifting, standing, bending, and movement throughout the shift
