Job Description
Our client is seeking an Area Manager for their Circleville, Ohio site.
The Area Manager Position has overall accountability and responsibility for all aspects of performance relating to Circleville’s Kapton® Casting Production Area, which includes 3 polyimide film lines that run 24 hrs/day, 365 days of the year. The Role has leadership responsibilities for an organization of about 80 operators and support personnel, with 11 of those being direct reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides Felt Leadership on Core Values performance for the area, including ensuring regulatory compliance, and compliance with area/site safety rules and policies. Ensures PSM compliance in facility. This facility handles combustible and flammable solvents and is considered a High Hazard Process.
Provides leadership and daily direction for the area including daily production execution to plan.
Works effectively with Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Team to accomplish safe execution of daily maintenance tasks and area shutdowns.
Establishes clear expectations with an overall high bar for performance and drives accountability and continuous improvement with the Line Organization.
Interfaces with supply chain, commercial, and quality teams on customer facing issues such as production to schedule and product quality.
Coaches and develops direct reports and cultivates atmosphere of learning and development in the broader Team.
Responsible for monthly cost outlooking and annual PO building for the casting cost centers and the execution against both the monthly cost outlooks and yearly budget.
Leads and coordinates projects with cross functional teams to drive improvements in area performance.
Works collaboratively with the Kapton® Leadership team and the Supply Chain, Finance, Quality and MT functions to successfully deliver on business requirements.
Occasional participation in cross-site Operations function work teams or focus groups.
Provides strategic leadership for the area including, but not limited to, core values advancement, organization design, capital roadmap, cost, productivity and quality improvement plans.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
5-7 years of Manufacturing leadership or equivalent experience strongly preferred: Chemical Manufacturing Environment
Leading work teams in alignment with clients values in a servant leader model
Demonstrated track record of driving change, elevating performance and consistently delivering results
Strong understanding and demonstrated commitment to operational discipline and PSM.
Experience in Coaching and Developing Others
Strength in building effective teams and collaboration
Ability to function at both tactical and strategic levels
Effective communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in building higher performing empowered work teams
Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science or Equivalent
Experience in cost/budget management
ASSIGNMENT DURATION:
3 years minimum
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The nature of this position requires a field presence in addition to standard office duties and availability to provide significant support outside of a Monday-Friday day schedule. Field activities include climbing stairs and ladders. This position may also require limited travel on company business to other local or global manufacturing locations.
