Job Overview YellowFinn Sushi is seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring variety and seasonal offerings.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage practices.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices.
Participate in catering events as required, ensuring high-quality food service.
Support the dietary department by preparing specialized meals when necessary.
Skills
Proficiency in food preparation techniques and culinary skills. Knife skills are very important.
Experience with a fryolator/fry station
Experience working in a restaurant hot line or catering environment is preferred.
Knowledge of menu planning, food handling, and safety regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the kitchen team.
A passion for cooking and a desire to learn new culinary techniques.
Flexibility to adapt to changing menus or dietary requirements.
