    ABOUT US

We are building technology that revolutionizes the way people shop for home services – moving, painting, remodeling, and beyond. Using computer vision, we pack the expertise of an on-site estimator into a smartphone. We're building a world where getting a quote for home services is as easy and interactive as shopping for products online. After success with early customer pilots in the moving/relocation industry - our AI technology analyzed over 400,000 customer videos just in the past year (and growing), we are looking to add new features to bring our technology to new industries. We are working on the challenging problem of scene understanding in 3D - reconstruction, sparse mapping and dimension estimation based on monocular camera and sensors. We use a mix of deep learning based techniques along with classical geometry-based computer vision and robotics. You will be building the core computer vision stack and creating the pipeline that will ship to customers. You will be working on annotating the right datasets, creating model architectures, and combining them with classical cv techniques and benchmark performance. This is a rare opportunity at an early-stage AI company to solve key computer vision problems and disrupt an entire industry that hasn't changed for decades.

    ABOUT YOU

    • You have hands-on experience with geometry-based CV : Perspective projection, Stereo vision, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), 3D reconstruction, feature detection and Structure from Motion (SFM).
    • You have hands-on experience with deep learning/computer vision model training and deployment. You're not afraid to get your hands dirty with designing the right loss functions, hyperparameter tuning, or debugging back prop equations. In short, you are a deep learning ninja who can rattle off the right loss functions to use for specific problems in your sleep.
    • You have expert-level mastery in one or more of the deep learning frameworks (Tensorflow, Pytorch).
    • You have background and experience in traditional computer vision, SLAM frameworks and know when to use traditional geometry-based approaches.
    • You are deeply ambitious, a top-notch communicator and want to grow into a leadership opportunity.
    • You have an MS or Phd in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on mathematics and algorithms.
    • You have shipped production computer vision models and have experience working with Docker, Kubernetes
    • You have publications in a Tier 1 computer vision/machine learning conference (CVPR, NIPS, etc.)
    • You have some CUDA programming experience

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • You will use the building blocks of computer vision - Perspective projection, homography, etc to put together the CV stack and pipeline. This role is skewed more towards expertise in CV/robotics but also understanding deep-learning (our stack uses both).
    • You will be instrumental in building our CV pipeline. On the deep-learning side, you can expect to work on one or more of the following:
      • Object detection (2D/3D) & Segmentation
      • Line detection
      • Object tracking
      • Dimension estimation
      • Localization & mapping
      • Serving production models
    • You will also be responsible for working with our engineering team developing internal tools that help facilitate annotation and our remote annotation workforce.
    • You will work with the product and engineering teams to deploy your models and pipeline in production and build tools to evaluate performance.

    WHY WORK WITH US?

    • Join a fantastic team at a magical time - Our early customers love the product and we have grown to mid double-digit customers in the past few months just based on referrals.
    • Meaningfully shape our future products
    • Elevate your skills - We are redefining how consumers shop for moving services and that involves learning how to sell a process changing solution to change the industry. You will learn so much that you can look back with pride to say - “I was involved in transitioning a very old school technology with cutting edge tech”
    • All of us here love what we do and you will notice it from our fast-paced culture.
    • We have fun as a team - we play Uno at lunch every day and do something fun as a group the last Friday of each month.
    • Competitive base salary
    • Equity
    • Medical, Dental and Vision
    • 3 Weeks PTO + 10 Government Holidays

    FAQ

    • This role is full-time and based on-site in San Diego. Because we're such a small, tight-knit team right now, working all in one place helps us go faster and solve complex problems together.
    • We are able to sponsor visas and green cards for exceptional candidates
    • We are currently looking for a minimum of 2 years of experience in the industry (preferably after a Phd).
