    Job Description

    YOH SCIENTIFIC is currently seeking a PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST  for one of our top in-vitro diagnostics clients located in SAN DIEGO, CA.     JOB SUMMARY:

    Our client is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual who is eager to support the manufacture of in-vitro diagnostics by helping ensure that products meet all regulatory requirements.  This position provides a good introduction into the traceability required for regulated medical devices including purchasing, logistics and inventory management.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Purchase order, sales order and logistics/reverse logistics processing support

    • Customer support

    • Data Entry

    • Inventory management with product build assemblies, inventory movement, and inventory reconciliation

    • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System of our client.

    • Printing and filing documentation

    • Performing gap assessments on documentation that may be required in the Quality Management System

    • Remediating gaps with review and summary of technical documentation, including design history files, batch records, and purchasing documents.

    • Transcribing documents into updated format

    • Assisting in organization of online documentation

    • Reviewing and verifying accuracy of documentation

    • Working with other team members to communicate requirements of our clients processes and ensure timeliness of completion of processes

    • Support supplier management by gathering re-evaluation order data and certification status

    • Create and support quality initiatives to maintain an environment of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Must possess exceptional attention to detail.

    • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

    • Ability to plan and organize work in an efficient manner.

    • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

    • Ability to work on projects and tasks with limited supervision.

    • Broad experience in the medical device and / or in-vitro diagnostics industries.

    • Excellent grammatical and proofreading skills.

    • Excellent in-person and electronic communication skills. 

    • Ability to track tasks to meet assigned deadlines.

    • Ability to review technical information and summarize.

    • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills.

    • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.

    • Computer literate; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and knowledge of SharePoint is a plus. 

    • Knowledge of basic accounting principles is a plus.

    • Experience with Quickbooks, SAP and Customer Resource Management (Salesforce) is a plus.

    • Experience with NCR/CAPAs is a plus.

    • Four-year degree in a science-related field is a plus.

    • May need to perform some tasks via remote work, but expected to be on-site for majority of the time

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties the employee is:

    • Constantly required to reach computers and other office and laboratory equipment
    • Constantly required to view objects at close and distant ranges
    • Frequently required to communicate with others
    • Frequently required to sit
    • Frequently required to use fine manipulation and simple grasping in order to utilize the computer and other standard office equipment such as telephone, fax machines, copiers, etc.
    • May occasionally be required to travel

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Employee frequently works in an office environment with a moderate amount of noise and activity.  The work environment is fast-paced and demanding.  Work weeks exceeding 40 hours are required as necessary.
