FRONT END TECHNICAL LEAD needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh’s client located in SAN DIEGO, CA!

THE BIG PICTURE – TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

• B.S. Degree in Computer Science, or related field is required. MS is preferred
• 10+ years of professional experience in engineering with a demonstrated track record of technical innovation
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node, React, OOP, REST API and server-side development
• User interface development experience (e.g. Vue, Angular, Ruby on Rails)
• You pick the right DB for the right time - experience with relational and NoSQL solutions on AWS

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Lead a team of strong technology developers that work with researching and developing a diverse scope of technologies
• Participate in defining, scoping and developing user experiences that delight the customer, create exciting new initiatives, solve interesting and unique problems, grow technical insight and collaborate across functional boundaries in defining architecture, APIs, and overall design
• Work very closely with Product and Program Management team to create development goals, schedules, define key milestones and measurable metrics on projects and work with team to deliver on those by planning work for each sprint accordingly
• Create technical epics/stories based on product requirements on projects and guide development team to deliver on time
• Mentor junior software engineers and lead technical/architectural discussions within the team as well as key stakeholders and executives when needed – build and lead others to see the vision
• Help to not only define the system architecture but to speak to its pros/cons thoroughly and welcome all input/changes.
• Implement best practices and coding standards of the project
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams on projects, demonstrate and train others on your creations
• Perform code reviews across multiple projects on various technologies
• Identify risks and form contingency plans as soon as possible, with the PM at project level
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments
• Report on project achievements/progress in meetings and deliver technical presentations to the relevant stakeholders
• Keep a check on entire projects, lead end-to-end testing of the entire solution.
• Work on constantly increasing the productivity of the team and inspire others to be creative problem solvers

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE (REQUIRED MUST HAVE’S):

• B.S. Degree in Computer Science, or related field is required. MS is preferred
• 10+ years of professional experience in engineering with a demonstrated track record of technical innovation
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node, React, OOP, REST API and server-side development
• User interface development experience (e.g. Vue, Angular, Ruby on Rails)
• You pick the right DB for the right time - experience with relational and NoSQL solutions on AWS
• Experience with a breadth of AWS services Infrastructure and deploying solutions using best practices (EC2, S3, Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SES, SQS, API Gateway, Docker, ElasticSearch, TerraForm, CloudFormation, Jenkins)
• Experience creating system architecture and be able to speak to its pros/cons thoroughly
• Be able to select appropriate technologies based on project needs
• Ability to rapidly prototype and adjust in response to customer feedback
• You should be very comfortable with both Linux-based and Windows environments
• You should enjoy researching information and digging deep to solve problems
• You should have a good breadth of knowledge and be comfortable in quickly bringing idea to solution
• Ability to make fast and informed decisions and work under pressure and aptly deal with ambiguity
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum Team
• Experience with Git/GitHub and managing code on multiple branches is expected
• Excellent technical, diagnostic, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities
• Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills BONUS IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
• Experience on high volume/large data services
• AWS certifications appreciated
• Integration with any machine learning projects or research teams
• Experience with video processing pipelines
• Experience with 3D modeling, AI, AR/VR, Mixed Reality, Image sensing technologies, IOT is preferred
• Experience with native mobile development (iOS/Android) is a plus
• Experience using embedded boards like nVidia Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or equivalent.
• Experience building reusable UX components or libraries
• Strong UX design skills
