TITLE: ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY PERFORMANCE MANAGER #319427

REPORTS TO: Sr. Manager of Laboratory & Analytical Services

FOCUS: HACCP, Food Safety, Product Development R&D, Quality (QA/QC), Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)

SUMMARY:

The ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY PERFORMANCE MANAGER will bring an MS OR PHD IN CHEMISTRY, ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY, OR BIOCHEMISTRY along with proficiency in REPORT AUTOMATION, LIMS, COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ISO 17025 to support APC.

The Analytical Performance Center (APC) supports efficiency and productivity projects across the organization. Key stakeholders include: Manufacturing, R&I, Food Safety, Industrialization, and Supplier Quality. The team acts as subject matter experts in the areas of Infrared, Flow Cytometry, Sequencing & Bioinformatics, and Allergens. We work closely with Procurement to optimize contracts that impact the organization at a global level. We also maintain partnerships with external laboratories, vendors, and universities to provide expert level support. Experience with Food Product Development, Food R&D or Research & Innovation (R&I), Dairy products, Plant protein products and supplements a plus!

REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S. IN CHEMISTRY/ ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY/ BIOCHEMISTRY or related field with 5 - 10 YEARS of experience. OR, MS/PHD WITH 3 - 5 YEARS of experience, CONSUMER PACKAGED GOODS (CPG) preferred

• Experience with Food Product Development, Food R&D or Research & Innovation (R&I), Dairy products, Plant protein products and supplements a plus!

• Strong background in COMPUTER SCIENCE applied to the areas of REPORT AUTOMATION and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) administration

• Experience with LABORATORY QUALITY SYSTEMS (ISO 17025) is a plus

• Proficient in Technical Writing, data analysis, excellent record keeping, compliance documentation, GLP and GMP

• Experience with cGMP Manufacturing is a plus

• Self-motivated, highly organized, ability to multi-task, customer service & team oriented, excellent communication skills, effective at time management, and positive approach to business challenges

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Must have proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office, shared applications, and laboratory instrumentation

• Ability to work from home and onsite (during COVID)

• Ability to travel ~15-25% (post-COVID)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a SME for the Analytical Chemistry laboratory.
• Lead innovation projects, troubleshoot and investigate incidents, design experiments
• Method Development, Method Validation and implement analytical methods
• Analytical Lab Operations oversight and cGMP; maintain the Laboratory Quality Management System according to ISO 17025 requirements with the support of other team members.
• Technical Writing, data analysis, record keeping, compliance documentation, GLP and GMP
• Demonstrate background with LIMS and Computer Science. Manage report automation and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) administration
• Compile and review reports, support findings with literature reviews, train internal stakeholders
• Build cross-functional partnerships, and communicate effectively with senior leaders.
