EHS CHEMICAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh’s client located in SAN DIEGO, CA.
THE BIG PICTURE – TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:
- 3-6 years relevant experience
- Experience with EH&S management systems such as: Wercs Studio and SAP
- Knowledge on various global product (chemical) compliance regulations, protocols, and standards (OSHA, GHS, Dangerous Goods, etc.)
YOU’LL BE DOING:
- The incumbent provides support for the Global Chemical Compliance project by helping to create and populate specified data fields according to established data standards; Hazardous Substance Management and Dangerous Good Movement SAP system. This work will ensure proper classification and management of materials for handling, storage, hazard identification, and transport.
- Assist Global Chemical Compliance team in the establishment, creation, and population of data in SAP (EHS and Master data)
- Create or gather missing data as defined by (EHS Chemical Compliance team) and system consultants
- Query existing systems to extract required data
- Transpose information from data sources into acceptable format
- Populate SAP Master Data fields according to established data standards.
- Upload documentation if necessary, such as Safety Data Sheets to system
- Determine validity and accuracy of data
- Follow other Illumina data standards as required
- Identify and correct data as necessary based on professional judgement
- Understanding of where data can be found if unavailable in current systems or documentation
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, toxicology, environmental science, or industrial hygiene.
- 3-6 years relevant experience
- Ability to interpret and transpose product data into compliance system
- Experience with EH&S management systems such as: Wercs Studio and SAP
- Proficient at data entry and navigation with advanced software solutions such as Right To Know systems and SAP EHS Modules
- Understanding of SAP system intricacies
- Knowledge on various global product (chemical) compliance regulations, protocols, and standards (OSHA, GHS, Dangerous Goods, etc.)
- Team oriented attitude
- Collaborative work ethic but can also work autonomously
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to report and resolve issues
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in work delivered
- Strong organizational skills
