Mueller, the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an immediate opening in our Information Technology (I.T.) function for an IT OPERATIONS MANAGER.      

This hands-on manager position located in Chattanooga, TN requires a self-motivated person to ensure high availability of geo-replicated IBM iSeries platform hosting JD Edwards World and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) ERP system’s used across Mueller Water Products offices and production facilities. Also, this person will support project work for an ongoing JD Edwards ERP System migration and implementation of third party solutions.   The IT OPERATIONS MANAGER role has one remote direct employee and will report to the Director of Business Systems.    

 Required Qualifications:

• Experience with IBM iSeries Operating System, software installation, IPL, hardware, LPAR’s
• Day to day operation including Backup, Restore, Service/Subsystem configuration/restart, Printers/Job configuration & management, general administration such as license renewals, utilizing vendor for product troubleshooting/upgrades.
• Strong working knowledge of the Job Scheduler, verifying jobs ran as expected, taking action where needed, and documenting
• Develop detailed step by step documentation for procedures where none exist
• Manage direct report and contractors as required
• Ability to manage time to accommodate regular administration and project work
• Normal travel is less than 25% but during major projects travel can increase to 50%+
• Ability and desire to learn new applications and tools

• Data System International (DSI) Inventory Management Application
• GoAnyWhere MFT
• Maxava Replication Software for Disaster Recovery
• Q-Software

Required Experience: 

• 5+ years of I.T. experience in iSeries operation, support, and administration
• Experience resolving ERP System’s problems, ensuring maximum system uptime. Supporting ERP system change management and SOX compliance processes.
• Monitor IBM iOS and Windows system, replication, performance, and work with appropriate team members to improve /troubleshoot issues
• Expertise scheduling/performing maintenance window off-hours upgrades and patching to minimize production downtime

The OPERATIONS MANAGER position is salaried exempt and does not qualify for overtime pay.  Relocation assistance may be offered for this position.
