    DOCKETING SPECIALIST

    Our dynamic, growing IP law firm is looking for a docketing specialist to serve as an important part of our team. Salary $50,000 - $70,000 based on years of experience.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Docketing Specialist is responsible for accurately reviewing correspondence and entering case details and due dates into the firm's docketing database.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Extensive knowledge of US & foreign patents, PAIR, Trademarks and PCT
    • Processing accurate data input of deadlines and other relevant docket information into our docketing system
    • Process incoming mail and docket due dates in the firm's docketing system, as necessary, based upon confirmed USPTO/PTAB/TTAB filings and/or confirmation of instructions and filings from clients and foreign associates
    • Ensure that all docketed items are addressed and cleared in compliance with established firm docket procedures
    • Identify discrepancies or problems with PTO correspondence, filings or other sources and seek appropriate resolution
    • Ability to interface with USPTO, WIPO and other websites regarding patent/trademark matters.
    • Strongly analytical, organized, highly motivated, proactive and detailed oriented.
    • Problem solver and a team player with the ability to exercise independence and professional judgment in a fast-paced environment
    • Have a keen sense and an eye for detail, along with accuracy and can handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision
    • Review and double-check actions
    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Requirement of 4+ years' experience in a Docketing Dept in an Intellectual Property Law Firm.  Previous work as an administrative assistant a plus
    • College degree
    • Knowledge of Computer Packages, Inc. (CPi) a plus
    • Computer skills that include word processing and data entry
    • Excellent written, verbal and people skills with the ability to 'own problems' and resolve issues
    • Exceptional organization skills and adeptness at prioritizing tasks
