    Job Description

    Fast growing agency seeks an account executive to work in the specialty end of the business.  Young Communications Group, Inc.  (YCG), a 20-year-old public relations and marketing communications agency specializing in developing campaigns that reach emerging majoritysm populations (African Americans, Hispanic/Latinos, Asian Pacific Islanders, newly arrived immigrants, women and people over 50) has an immediate opening for an account executive. Candidates must have experience working in media advocacy, community relations and ethnic marketing communications.

     

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, pubic relations or marketing
    • A minimum of two year’s professional experience in a related field, preferably in an agency setting
    • Possess good written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer knowledge required (Macintosh preferred) and data base management skills
    • Must be able to work under time pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
    • Willing and able to work overtime and to travel
    • Salary: from the $40s, depending on experience
    • All candidates must pass a writing test

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Work on educational and health care accounts
    • Write materials for news bureau (press releases, media pitches, researching backgrounders, media follow-ups, fact-checking)
    • Conduct market research, knowledge of social media, community affairs, community relations, special events and media relations
    • Participate in group brainstorming and team meetings
