Hegwood Law Group has an opening for an experienced Medicaid paralegal to join our firm! The Medicaid Paralegal will help us draft quality documents for clients and aid them through the application process to qualify for Medicaid benefits when needing to transition to a skilled nursing facility. We assist families transition their loved ones during what may be a difficult time, so compassion and accountability are very important to us. Responsibilities: • Draft and prepare legal documents • Coordinate with state personnel regarding Medicaid applications and related matters • Manage calendar • Complete daily tasks and assignments independently with little supervision in a timely manner to meet all deadlines • Meet with clients in-person, by phone, and virtually • Keep track of a timesheet to ensure accurate billing using a case management software • Be comfortable with change and have the ability to adapt as needed Qualifications: • 3 - 5 years of experience in Medicaid required • Experience working in a law office • Hold the ability to follow established office procedures • Detail-oriented and client-focused • Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies and/or equivalent experience • Experience with Microsoft Office • Experience with multi-line phones • MyCase & LawPay experience is a plus but not required Compensation: $40,000 - $60,000 yearly
