We are looking for a Family Law & Divorce Attorney with experience practicing in divorce and child custody-related matters, both pre, and post-judgment. This is a full-time position. This is a flexible remote position - you need not live in the Lansing or Kalamazoo area to apply. But, you must be licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan. If you are from the Lansing area, this is a fantastic chance for a young attorney itching for more in-court time and more complex matters. While this position is likely to require in-person appearances at courts in and around Mid and Southwest Michigan and beyond, candidates interested in remote arrangements are encouraged to apply. You are not required to bring a book of business, but if you have active clients, we are able to accommodate your transition, and this will, obviously, impact compensation favorably. Responsibilities: Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases Represent clients in court proceedings as needed Qualifications: You must be an independent thinker, but also know when to call upon your team. We have those. You will be an attorney who will be expected to produce legal work, appear in court, attend mediations, review pleadings, assist in creating litigation strategies, and advise clients. The candidate will have: • 2 years of experience in a litigation-centered position, preferably with experience practicing family law. Prosecutors, legal aid lawyers, and public defenders are strongly encouraged to apply • Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan • Strong research, writing, analytical and organizational skills • Excellent planning, prioritization, and time management skills • Strong communication skills • Experience managing multiple projects or cases at once • Knowledge and compassion to deal with clients of various levels of sophistication regarding technical matters Compensation: $60,000 - $150,000 yearly yearly
