    JOB SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Regulatory Compliance Coordinator will ensure all tests, inspections and needed repairs are communicated, documented and distributed, as required in the timeframe specified for each.  The candidate will be responsible for regulatory reporting and training related to safety and compliance, which would include working cohesively with company employees, customers and potential customers in connection with regulatory questions, inspections, compliance and recommendations.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Understand/evaluate current and new regulations as they affect J B Dewar’s business;

    Application and training of new and existing laws and regulations;

    Participation in regulatory site inspections;

    Maintain a positive working relationship with state and local regulators, vendors, team members and stakeholders;

    Manage regulatory data base; responsible for ensuring information is accurate and up to date;

    Act as the regulatory contact for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County, as well as the State of California.

    Provide annual training of:

    • Spill Prevention Control, Countermeasure Plan (SPCC);
    • Designated Operator annual site operator training;
    • Hazardous Materials Business Plan;
    • Emergency Response Plan (ERP);
    • Maintaining SDS Database and update as needed;
    • Provide additional safety-related training as required.

    Oversee the legal and correct handling of accumulated hazardous waste;

    Oversee the Safety Program, audit Safety Meeting Logs, maintain incident records;

    Assist Emergency Response Team during emergency events;

    Assist in OSHA compliance;

    Assist in ADA compliance concerns;

    Consult with maintenance staff and management as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    At least 5 years’ experience dealing with regulatory agencies in a compliance related role;

    California Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record;

    Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products;

    Excellent time management, multi-tasking, attention to detail and follow-through skills;

    Astute oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in weight;

    Ability to climb ladders at heights up to 30 feet.

    DESIRED SKILLS (TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED TO OBTAIN CERTIFICATION NEEDED):

    California State Designated Operator Certification;

    California State Service Technician Certification;

    Division Of Measurement Standards Service Technicians License;

    Knowledge of service area;

    Petroleum and fuel product knowledge;

    Knowledge of spill/overfill safety and recovery procedures;

    Hazardous-Materials certified trainer.

    COMPENSATION:

    $33.65 - $36.05 per hour DOE, for this full-time non-exempt position

    7:30AM – 5:00PM Monday – Friday
