JOB SUMMARY:

The clinic would like to offer its clients dog grooming services and has just initiated this new department.  The ideal candidate will have dog grooming experience, a fun and dynamic personality, possess exceptional customer service skills and be able to shape the department to his/her specifications accordingly.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Ability to groom various breeds of dogs in accordance with their hair types;

Ability to accurately assess the behavior and condition of each dog, while utilizing techniques and methods to calm and keep the dog safe during the grooming process;

Ability to lift, handle and groom large, overly excited, or frightened dogs safely for the dog and the groomer;

Ability to recognize common illnesses, such as skin disorders, watery eyes and nose, possibly due to allergies, or a sprain and notify the vet and/or dog owner accordingly;

Ability to provide exceptional customer service skills to the dog owners, treat the dogs with care and attention and work well with the veterinary clinic personnel, as well as external vendors;

Ability to educate clients about preventative care, OTC products and basic animal care information;

Proficient computer and keyboard skills;

Ability to answer multi-line phone calls;

Maintain patient records and appointment schedule;

Handle payment transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification proving at least 500 hours of approved training as a dog groomer;

Recent proven successful experience as a dog groomer.

WORKING HOURS:

9:00AM – 4:00PM, Tuesday through Saturday

COMPENSATION:

$16.00 per hour, plus commission, tips and benefits
