    Pacific Coast Well Drilling has earned significant recognition in the California groundwater development industry, specializing in providing deep-well water turnkey drilling solutions for municipal, agricultural and large-scale commercial projects.  In addition, its vertically integrated pump division, Precision Hydro, offers a complete range of high-quality pump services, including system design, new installation, as well as complete monitoring and maintenance programs. 

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Driller, the Rig Hand/Rover will assist the Driller and Drilling Foreman in completing the water well drilling operations of each project.  The ideal candidate will be able to perform various manual tasks in a labor-intensive and fast-paced environment, with little supervision, while working independently and with other crew members.  The working day will involve 8-12 hour shifts on a job site, typically in remote locations and requiring out of town travel.

    DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assist with rig mobilization/demobilization with Driller and Pusher;

    Assist in drilling and well construction activities;

    Service and maintain rig and other on-site support equipment;

    Clean and organize jobsite and tool trailer;

    Load and unload construction materials, supplies and equipment;

    Follow/practice safety protocols and company policies;

    Responsible for checking, adjusting and recording drilling fluid properties;

    Record and notify Driller of onsite supplies, material and equipment used;

    Take part in rig and onsite action including safety and tailgate meetings and rig maintenance;

    Communicate and recommend needs including PPE and inventory checklists;

    Implement field training programs with junior rover;

    Operate heavy equipment to include reach lift, back hoe and water truck.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Ability to operate water well drilling equipment;

    Must be able to pass a drug screen;

    Experience with mechanics;

    Must be available to work up to 12-hour days / nights and weekends, on a regular basis;

    Must be able to travel to job sites within a 200-mile radius of Paso Robles;

    Valid CA drivers’ license, clean driving record, reliable transportation; Class B driver’s license, a plus;

    At least 21 years of age (Due to automobile insurance requirements)

    Mechanical knowledge or past rig experience, a plus;

    Welding knowledge, a plus.

    WORKING HOURS:

    7:00AM – 4:30PM Monday through Friday, but may be extended to 12 hours, if required, in addition to travel and out of town work, which can include an overnight work schedule, when necessary.

    COMPENSATION:

    $17.00 per hour + overtime for this non-exempt, full-time position.

    BENEFITS:

    Medical; dental; vision; 401(k)/ROTH retirement plan, with employer match up to 4% annually; 10 days paid vacation within the 1st year and rising thereafter incrementally; standard California 24 hours annually paid sick time.
