    Job Summary

    Join i9 Sports as a Weekend Basketball Official and make a slam dunk impact! More than just calling fouls, you’ll be a mentor, coach, and role model—creating a dynamic, fair, and fun environment where kids can develop their skills and love for the game.

    Regional Details

    Our programs rotate seasonally to provide the best facilities for our athletes. This position covers our North Cluster, including:

    Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Fontana, Rialto, Bloomington, Chino, and Ontario.

    Assignment locations vary by season. Reliable transportation to all cities in this cluster is required.

    Responsibilities

    Enforce i9 Sports Rules: Ensure a fair, safe, and educational experience for all players.

    Teach & Demonstrate: Emphasize core concepts, sportsmanship, and fair play during gameplay.

    Game Day Logistics: Efficiently set up and break down practice and game equipment. (Note: Setup and cleanup count as one game toward compensation).

    Manage Game Flow: Keep accurate time and score; adjust interactions and calls to match the players' age group.

    Customer Service: Maintain a consistently positive attitude and provide exceptional support to players, families, and colleagues.

    Mentor Coaches: Support volunteer coaches by clarifying rules, answering questions, and fostering a collaborative environment.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Experience: Possess at least 2 years of experience as a player, coach, or official in Basketball.

    Communication: Effectively interact with players, coaches, and spectators through clear, positive, and engaging communication.

    Safety First: Prioritize player safety, identify risks, and demonstrate proactive awareness in any situation.

    Reliable Transportation: Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to travel within the North IE cluster.

    Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active on the court for the duration of the games.

    Smartphone: Must possess a smartphone with internet access for digital reporting.

    Background Check: Must pass a mandatory National Criminal Background Check.

    Payment Disclosure

    Payment for this position is based on a game rate structure. This means that as an independent contractor, you will be paid weekly based only on the number of games you successfully work during that period. Your total weekly compensation will be the established rate multiplied by the number of games completed (including setup and cleanup blocks); it is not a fixed salary or an hourly wage for time spent outside of game duties.

    Each franchised location is independently owned and operated and is solely and exclusively responsible for determining local hiring decisions, compensation, benefits, and other terms of employment.
