Paraprofessional – Specialized Services
Job Description
The PARAPROFESSIONAL – SPECIALIZED SERVICES facilitates ancillary educational programs; maintains order with the students assigned for supervision; tutors students on lessons determined by the teacher; helps maintain a positive classroom environment; plans lessons for student program facilitation; assists students with lessons and assignments; assists teacher with organizational needs in the classroom; maintains accurate records regarding student; and: performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience working in Special Education
Illinois State Board of Education approval as a Paraprofessional
Completed 60 semester hours of college credit at a regionally accredited institution of higher education or
Obtained an Associates Degree (or higher) at a regionally accredited institution of higher education or
Met a formal State assessment by either passing the ETS ParaPro assessment or passed the applicable ACT Work Keys assessments or
Met State Paraprofessional approval PLUS 300 Professional Training Points from specific criteria and passed a rigorous local academic assessments conforming to federal guidelines
