    Youth Life Specialist

Part-Time: 20 Hours/Week | Includes PTO Reports to: NextGen Pastor

    The Heart of the Role

At Life Community, we aren't looking for a "Program Director" to manage spreadsheets or logistics. We have a team that is already highly gifted in administration and organization. Instead, we are looking for a relational catalyst. Your primary mission is to be present in the lives of our 7th–12th graders and to help our serving team do the same. We believe that simple, ordinary connections are the foundation for authentic discipleship. We want someone who loves the "fun" of youth ministry and sees it as the front door to deeper, life-changing conversations about Jesus.

    The Team Fit

We are a team of "Finishers" (High Tenacity and Enablement). We are great at making things happen and keeping them running. To round us out, we are looking for:

    • The Idea Generator: Someone who brings fresh, creative energy to how we engage students.
    • The Relational Spark: Someone who naturally rallies people—both students and our serving teams —and gets them excited about being together.
    • The Spontaneous Soul: If you thrive on people-energy and "life-on-life" connection, you'll balance our current team perfectly.

    Primary Responsibilities

    1. Relational Presence & Sunday Connection (60%)

    • The Sunday Bridge: Create a tangible, welcoming presence for teens during our Sunday morning gatherings. You are the "anchor" that helps students find one another in the large group, building a sense of belonging that carries over into Wednesday nights.
    • "Turf" Ministry: Spending time where students are throughout the week—sidelines of games, school lunches, coffee shops, or theater rehearsals.
    • Mentorship: Building trust-based relationships with students, helping them navigate their reality with the Gospel.
    • The "Fun" Factor: Bringing energy to our gatherings, ensuring that every student who walks in feels seen and welcomed.

    2. Creative Contribution (20%)

    • Idea Generation: Collaborating with the NextGen Pastor to brainstorm series themes, event ideas, and creative ways to reach students.
    • Engagement: Thinking through "the avenue"—using fun and games to build a bridge to meaningful discipleship.

    3. Serving Team Coaching (20%)

    • Multiplying Presence: You aren't just a "super-member"; you are a coach. You'll help our youth serving team lean into their own time with kids.
    • Culture Building: Modeling what "life-on-life" ministry looks like so our entire serving team grows in relational density.

    Schedule & Logistics

    • Weekly Hours: 20 hours per week.
    • Required On-Site Times: * Sundays: Present during morning gatherings to galvanize and unite our students. * Wednesdays: Evening Youth Group gatherings. * Thursdays: Afternoon Staff Meetings for collaboration and prayer.
    • Flexibility: The remaining hours are flexible to allow for "relational time" with students and serving team members throughout the week.
    • What You DON'T Have to Worry About: Heavy administrative systems, complex budget spreadsheets, or master-calendar logistics. We want you free to focus on people and ideas.

    Qualifications & Benefits

    • Internal Connection: Already attending Life Community or closely connected to our church family.
    • Relational Intuition: A natural ability to start a conversation, read a room, and move from "small talk" to "soul talk."
    • Heart for Teens: A genuine desire to see middle and high schoolers transformed by the reality of Jesus.
    • Benefits: This position includes Paid Time Off (PTO) to ensure you stay rested and healthy.
