THE SKATESIDE | Los Angeles Area

    Starting at $20/hour | Approximately 3–10 hours/week

THE SKATESIDE is hiring dependable, responsible Youth Roller Skating Coaches for our children's programs throughout Los Angeles.

Typical school-year programs run Monday–Friday between approximately 2:00–5:00 PM, with most individual shifts lasting 1.5–2 hours. Additional hours may be available through camps, weekend programs, private lessons, and special events.

You don't need to work every weekday. You choose the days that consistently work for you. However, once you accept a recurring program, we count on you to be there every week for the duration of that program.

    This Is a Coaching Job

This is not a position where you simply roller skate alongside kids.

Our coaches teach structured lessons, demonstrate skills, manage groups, maintain safety, communicate professionally with parents and school staff, and help children build confidence.

Basic roller skating proficiency is required, but you do not need to be an advanced or competitive roller skater.

We're more interested in finding someone who is mature, dependable, great with kids, and comfortable teaching basic roller skating skills.

    Program Locations

We are currently hiring coaches for programs in:

    Culver City

    Santa Monica

Coaches may be assigned to one or both areas based on availability and program needs. Reliable transportation is required.

    Pay & Opportunities

    Starting pay: $20/hour

Opportunities to advance to approximately $23–$25/hour based on reliability, performance, experience, and responsibilities

Additional $2/hour for qualifying childcare/child-development credentials

    Seasonal reliability and performance bonuses

Opportunities for additional hours through camps, weekend programs, private lessons, and special events

    We're Looking For Someone Who:

Is dependable and consistently on time

    Has basic roller skating skills

    Enjoys working with children

Can confidently lead and manage a group of kids

Communicates professionally with parents and staff

    Is comfortable working independently

    Has reliable transportation

Can commit to the same assigned weekday(s) each week

Can follow THE SKATESIDE lesson plans and safety procedures

Previous experience in childcare, youth sports, after-school programs, camps, recreation, education, mentoring, or coaching is strongly preferred.

    Child Safety Requirements

    Selected coaches must:

Complete General Child Care Mandated Reporter Training

    Provide a qualifying TB test/clearance

Complete/pass the required Live Scan background check

Complete THE SKATESIDE training and safety requirements

Already completed Mandated Reporter Training? Great. Candidates who already have this training and/or professional experience working with children may receive hiring preference.
