The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse (CADA) is seeking compassionate and motivated Youth Treatment Therapists to join our Daniel Bryant Youth and Family Center in downtown Santa Barbara.
We are offering comprehensive training in Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT), an evidence-based, family-centered therapeutic approach that addresses substance abuse and mental health disorders in adolescents and young adults. Qualifications:
Master’s degree in helping profession (Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, etc.) *
Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (MFT), LCSW, LPCC, Registered Associate, or equivalent. *
Minimum one year experience in the field of alcohol/drug counseling and/or therapy (preferably with adolescents)
Specific knowledge of individual counseling principles and techniques, substance abuse assessment and case planning, and therapeutic interventions for substance abuse
Ability to communicate professionally in writing and orally with clients from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds
High standard of professional ethics
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and bi-cultural preferred
Familiarity with SB County Behavioral Wellness documentation preferred
Responsibilities:
Provide group, individual, and family therapy to assigned clients in alignment with treatment goals.
Collaborate with clients and families to assess medical necessity, establish treatment plans, and monitor progress.
Maintain effective communication with support persons (e.g., parents, probation officers) as permitted by treatment protocols.
Adhere to prescribed curricula and evidence-based approaches in therapy delivery.
Complete all required documentation accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner within Clinician’s Gateway and Credible EHRs.
Meet productivity goals by dedicating a significant portion of work hours to direct client service.
Attend weekly staff meetings, case discussions, and stay current with research and best practices in addiction treatment.
Maintain compliance with Title 22 Guidelines, SB County Behavioral Wellness policies, and complete required training and reporting.
Willingness to undergo comprehensive training in Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT), to become certified while providing family-centered therapy for adolescents and young adults.
We are currently hiring for both full-time (40 hrs/week) and part-time (20 hrs/week) therapist positions. Full-time employees will be eligible for benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off. Please indicate your preferred schedule in the prescreening questions:
Full-Time (Mon-Fri, 10:00am - 6:30pm)
Part-Time (Mon-Fri, 2:30pm - 6:30pm)
Compensation is dependent on qualifications and experience, with a salary range of $24-$32 per hour. The starting rate is $24/hr for trainees and associates, and $27/hr for licensed therapists. Additionally, there is potential for rate increases based on bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) and relevant experience.
In compliance with the California Department of Health Care Services, staff require an up-to-date Tuberculosis test during the duration of employment.
