Responsibilities: • Manage family law cases in accordance with firm direction and directives. • Deliver top-notch customer service and build strong relationships with clients. • Undertake complete responsibility for the strategy of a client's case. • Engage in legal research and analysis. • Engage in court hearings, trials, and depositions. • Undertake negotiations or mediation on behalf of clients. • Collaborate with other team members to meet clients' complex needs. Qualifications: The most important qualifications are that you: • You are excellent at time management and know how to maximize the use of your calendar to ensure that your billable targets are met, your legal assistant and paralegal are clear on their tasks, and you deliver an incredible client experience. • Demonstrate a commitment to continuing legal education. • You can develop the strategy of a case based on the goals of the client, and you know where to find the rules and case law to back up that case strategy. • You are comfortable in a courtroom and know how to project confidence and competence when representing our clients. • You excel at setting realistic expectations for our clients and managing those expectations as the case progresses. You need to be able to help a client understand whether they really want to spend $500 to fight with their ex over a $50 lamp. • Skills and experience are important and valued, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations. • You can deal with a CEO who is always busy, might not give much direction, might get distracted by new, exciting things, and is focused on results. • ·You appreciate the value of streamlined policies and procedures to ensure that the work product remains high-level and consistent. • You are comfortable with technology and appreciate how it makes our services more accessible to our clients and collaboration between team members easier. • You must be licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland. The ideal candidate will also be licensed in DC and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia. Compensation: $90,000 - $145,000 yearly based on years of experience
