Location: Dallas, TX – onsite – 3 days a week

Java & Golang Backend Engineer

Job Summary:

Works with product teams, analysts and other engineers to design systems and application software, and mentor junior members of the team. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Observability engineer to join our passionate development team. You will be very familiar with Rest API concepts and how to use Go or Java to build, develop and deliver Highly Available Real-time Distributed Data API systems.

You will work well in a team but can work and problem solve independently.

Responsibilities:

Support development of API’s for:

Log Collection and Analysis

Operational Metrics (SNMP/gNMI/RESTful based Telemetry)

Distributed Tracing

Code and Artifact Repositories

Secrets Management

Configuration Repository and Management

Event, Message and other such PUBSUB systems

Container Build Standards and Automation

Continuous Delivery

Write documentation as needed

Work as part of an Agile scrum team.

Required Skills:

· Very strong Golang & Java language proficiency having at least 6 years’ experience in software and systems engineering

· Good understanding of Networking concepts.

· Good Grasp of Network observability and Telemetry (SNMP, gNMI, RESTful APIs)

· Should have worked on Observability platforms or have strong knowledge of Observability/Telemetry systems.

· Expertise and experience in delivering large-scale systems using big data technologies including but not limited to: Enterprise scale Kafka, Splunk, Prometheus/Loki/Grafana stack, ELK stack and other

Time Series databases

· Strong skills with Stream Processing Frameworks

· Good understanding of implementing and deploying Container-based applications via CI/CD pipelines.

· Strong understanding of delivering Highly-Available Real-time Distributed Systems

· Strong skills in building RESTful API’s over Data platforms

· Good understanding of the Git version control system

· Excellent problem-solving skills

• Testing:

o Develops unit tests·

o Fixes defects·

o Develops test strategies·

o Recommends testing frameworks

DevOps:

Defines deployment and release guidelines ·

Defines and executes environment planning and cross-functional dependencies·

Documents software configuration management practices and educates cross-functional stakeholders on the processes and tools.

Software Reliability & Support Engineering:

Captures, Consolidates, and maintains inventory of production applications, flows and systems for all the software engineering verticals·

Helps in preparing application support documentation·

Troubleshoots basic application issues with the help of knowledgebase documents

Customer/Stakeholder Engagement·

Technical Project Management:

Provides level of effort (LOE)·

Works with technical project managers and product management teams to define schedule:

Provides status reports and release management progress updates R&D.
