    Law Clerk

    In this position, the applicant will perform a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks related to the personal injury case processing and will work closely with firm Attorneys. Job duties could include, but are not limited to: filing, collating, preparing legal documents for Attorney review, e-filing legal documents with the court, preparing packets for Attorneys, and other associated duties. Candidates should have experience working in fast-paced work environments, be detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. Legal experience is a plus but is not required- we are willing to train the right candidate.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    This position will be responsible for performing a wide variety of duties, tasks, and assignments associated with the effective and timely case management and settlement of personal injury cases. Examples of these functions include:

    Communicating with Clients, Adjusters, and Medical Providers on behalf of our clients;

    Assisting with the drafting and review of legal correspondence, demands, and settlement summaries;

    Ordering bills/records from medical providers and updating cases in the electronic case management program, verification and confirmation of liens and medical billing amounts;

    Conducting research to support legal proceedings and case management;

    Assisting with the drafting and review of legal documents;

    Investigate and documentation of the facts of the case, thereby assisting and supporting the assigned attorney in the negotiation of the cases.

    Providing administrative and/or clerical support to case assigned attorneys as requested.

    EDUCATION:

    Currently enrolled in a Law Degree program from an approved and accredited college or university. Preferred: Second (2nd) year students.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Preferred: experience in a law or other professional service firm environment.

    o This is not a legal assistant position and only candidates currently in Law School will be eligible.

    This is a part-time position with a requirement for twenty (20) hour work week. The work schedule is flexible for those candidates who are currently enrolled in a law degree program.
