    ZANTECH IS LOOKING FOR A NETWORK SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR TO SUPPORT OUR FEDERAL CLIENT'S MISSION CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE.

    The NaaS System Administrator reports directly to the Network as a Service (NaaS) Project Manager and is responsible for networking, monitoring, and performance evaluation services to the Operations Systems Center (OSC) Business and Support Systems. Expected to provide analysis and improvement of system performance, stability, and functionality. Additionally, will provide design consultation, performance baselining, troubleshooting, Load Testing, and consulting services. The SA will work on a suite of Linux servers and Window systems, using enterprise system monitoring tools. SolarWinds and RiverBed SteelCentral are a plus.

    The SA is expected to have technical knowledge of systems under their responsibility and be capable of executing independent and team tasks as assigned. The SA must be a team player and willing to interact with other people at all levels throughout the organization. The SA must possess the ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues across a variety of systems and platforms.

    The candidate will provide internal status reports, enforces quality control of project deliverables, and leads in the developing of efficient processes and procedures for continuing improvement of the certification and accreditation process.

    The ideal candidate is very detail-oriented with strong technical knowledge, strong writing skills, and excellent customer relationship management skills. Able to be responsible for supporting the planning, developing, finalization, and reviewing of key deliverables in each stage of the Certification and Accreditation process. A strong understanding of standards and requirements outlined by Department of Defense (DOD), including: Security Technical implementation Guidelines (STIGs), RMF (NIST SP 800 series and FIPS), FISMA, and others as required is also a plus.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Technical Support for the systems including responding to Help Desk tickets and working with users to resolve issues relating to the Systems Monitoring (SolarWinds) and/or general troubleshooting (generally with Riverbed tools).
    • Participate and contribute to architectural design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the application infrastructure
    • Plan, communicate, test, and perform system maintenance, to include upgrades, security updates, and patching
    • Research and investigate problems and develop viable solutions; communicate recommendations clearly and effectively to the team
    • Perform daily systems review (logs, backups, etc.)
    • Provide technical input for policies and procedures and maintain associated documentation
    • Develop, post, and maintain web pages or documentation for distribution of information
    • Adhere to Change/Configuration Management procedures and policies
    • Develop, post, and maintain web pages or documentation for distribution of information
    • Accurately enter host tracking and service approval information in internal DB
    • Assist Project Manager in gathering system metrics for reporting purposes
    • Ability to participate on 24x7 on-call team (rotating schedule with flextime offset)
    • Act as a first-responder, interacting directly with users and system administrators to document and address service requests and trouble reports
    • Diagnose and resolve connectivity and network service issues
    • Install, configure, and manage related equipment (especially application software and appliances)
    • Proofpoint Email server administration
    • DNS system administration (assignment and coordination of registered hostnames)
    • DHCP system administration (assignment and coordination of network addresses)
    • Strong comprehension in OSI Layer 2-7 environments

    REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    This position is open to US citizens only and requires applicants to successfully obtain a NACI prior to start date per contract requirements.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • 15+ years of technical IT engineering and/or architecture experience with a strong background in IT infrastructure.
    • Strong experience with Windows Servers and a working knowledge of the combination/interoperability of Linux/Unix and Windows Operating Systems
    • Strong skills in the design, planning, and building of data centers and providing service support for the previously mentioned technologies.
    • Good understanding of infrastructure technology such as server, storage, network and inter-relationship with data center architecture designs and services
    • Ability to participate on 24x7 on-call rotation with flex-time, accepting calls during off-hours to support servers
    • CompTIA Security+ certification

    • Bachelors Degree

    • Use of standard office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Outlook.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, and effective in interfacing with internal and external customers fostering collaboration and establishing strong partnerships and relationships.
    • Excellent technical writing skills and oral communication skills.
    • Strong with information security practices with experience in server hardening and security implementation strategies
    • Knowledge of the Department of Homeland Security enterprise architecture including security policies, procedures, and guidance. Experience with NIST Certification and Accreditation processes.
    • Strong knowledge of DOD STIG requirements and implementation
    • Experience with Linux

    • Experience with Proofpoint systems
    • Knowledge of TCP/IP, IT security architecture and design (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virtual private networking, and virus protection technologies)
    • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
    • Strong knowledge of the OSI data communications model. 
    • Knowledge of LAN/WAN design and general internetworking technologies.
    • Knowledge of various operating systems and hardware.
    • Basic programming and database training.
    • Existing DoD or DHS security clearance beneficial
    • Experience with F5 BigIP.
    • IT certifications a plus.
