    ZANTECH IS LOOKING FOR A NETWORK ENGINEER TO SUPPORT OUR FEDERAL CLIENT'S MISSION CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE.

    The Network Engineer needs to be very detail oriented with strong technical knowledge, superior writing skills, and excellent customer relationship management skills.

    The primary task will be for DOD network implementation and daily maintenance, with additional responsibilities to include planning, developing, finalizing, and reviewing key deliverables in each stage of the Certification and Accreditation process.

    The engineer will coordinate and plan the Certification and Accreditation activities for existing systems and those still in development (SDLC) working with business systems to compose the requisite documentation (security categorizations, risk assessments, contingency planning, etc.) to bring multiple projects to fruition. Will continue to provide ongoing gap analysis of current policies, practices, and procedures as they relate to the established guidelines outlined in the standards and requirements outlined by Department of Defense (DOD) Security Technical implementation Guidelines (STIG), NIST RMA, FISMA, DHS security Certification and Accreditation process, and others as required.

    By working with NaaS team to conduct in-depth technical reviews of new and existing IT systems the Network Engineer will help identify the appropriate mitigation strategies required to bring these systems into compliance with established policy and industry guidelines. This is done by actively working face-to-face interviewing key organizational stakeholders (technical, administrative, and executive) to identify the unique system characteristics and planning or participating in a team effort to map the complex technical requirements, functionality, and capabilities to prescribed security controls, policies, and practices.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Act as a first-responder, interacting directly with users and system administrators to document and address service requests and trouble reports
    • Diagnose and resolve common connectivity and network service issues
    • Install, configure, and manage network equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, Load Balancers, etc.)
    • DHCP system administration (assignment and coordination of network addresses)
    • DNS system administration (assignment and coordination of registered hostnames)
    • Proficiency in OSI Layer 2-3 environments
    • Administer and support physical or virtual firewall devices (e.g.: Juniper, Cisco, InfoBlox, F5, or Fortigate) along with implementing and maintaining firewall policies

    REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    This position is open to US citizens only and requires applicants to successfully obtain a NACI prior to start date per contract requirements.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Hold a DoD IAT II Certification (see https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/)
    • 5+ years of IT engineering and/or architecture experience with a strong background in network infrastructure, firewall maintenance, and security policies supporting projects and systems of similar size, scope, and technical complexity to those supported under this contract.
    • LAN/WAN infrastructure design and implementation experience (Juniper, Cisco, or InfoBlox) and network security
    • Strong understanding of infrastructure technology such as server, storage, network and inter-relationship with data center architecture designs and services
    • Ability to participate on 24x7 on-call rotation with flex-time, accepting calls during the night to support servers
    • A strong understanding of standards and requirements outlined by Department of Defense (DOD) Security Technical implementation Guidelines (STIG), NIST RMF, FISMA, and others as required.
    • Proficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office Suite applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional creating forms. Able to display desktop publication skills.
    • Excellent technical writing skills in the English language with the ability to clearly, accurately, and concisely communicate technical information in both oral and written formats.

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to work well in a team environment, promote customer service, and handle complex technical issues
    • Ability to work individually and in a team environment with minimal supervision to set priorities and give attention to detail and quality with a positive attitude.
    • Should be self-motivated, reliable, and trustworthy, with strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and ability to handle stress in professional manner.
    • Should be flexible with strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task,
    • Ability to learn new tools quickly.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience with NIST/NIAP certification and accreditation processes. Experience in the financial services market is beneficial but not required
    • Experience in data center design, planning and consolidation of global sites a plus
    • Experience with server hardening and security implementation strategies
    • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
    • McAfee Web Gateway configuration and management
    • Familiar with OSI data communications model.
    • Familiar with information security practices.
    • CCNA, desired
    • DOD experience with Juniper or Fortigate firewalls
    • Knowledge of TCP/IP, IT security architecture and design (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virtual private networking, and virus protection technologies -- behavioral based a plus).
    • Knowledge of LAN/WAN design and general internetworking technologies. Hands-on experience.
    • Knowledge of various operating systems and hardware.
    • Basic programming and database training.
    • Juniper certification/training: JNCIS-SEC highly desired, JNCIA-Junos is acceptable
