    ZANTECH IS LOOKING FOR A TALENTED SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR TO SUPPORT OUR FEDERAL CLIENT'S CUTTING-EDGE ENTERPRISE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IMPLEMENTATION.

    The System Administrator will primarily provide daily system support and troubleshooting for the Systems Backups infrastructure hardware and software. This infrastructure provides services to the Operations Systems Center (OSC) Business and Support Systems. The SA may also provide support and troubleshooting for the Enterprise Computing and Enterprise Storage teams. The SA will work with Veritas NetBackup, *nix servers and Window systems integrated with Cisco/Brocade network devices, NetApp/3PAR storage arrays and Quantum tape storage systems (physical and virtual).  Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup software is required.  Experience with Quantum tape libraries, HP StoreOnce, NetBackup appliances, VMware, NetApp/3PAR storage arrays and SAN administration is a plus.

    The SA is expected to have technical knowledge of required systems and be capable of executing independent and team tasks as assigned.  The SA must be a team player and willing to interact with other people at all levels throughout the organization. The SA must possess the ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues across a variety of systems and platforms. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Technical Support for the systems including responding to Help Desk tickets and working with users to resolve issues relating to the Systems Backups infrastructure
    • Perform daily systems review (logs, backups, etc.)
    • Participate and contribute to architectural design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the virtualization infrastructure
    • Plan, communicate, test, and perform system maintenance, to include upgrades, security updates, and patching
    • Research and investigate problems and develop viable solutions; communicate recommendations clearly and effectively to the team  
    • Provide technical input for policies and procedures and maintain associated documentation
    • Develop and maintain accurate documentation of servers, network, etc.
    • Adhere to Change/Configuration Management procedures and policies
    • Develop, post, and maintain web pages or documentation for distribution of information
    • Accurately enter host tracking and service approval information in internal DB
    • Assist PCS in gathering system metrics for reporting purposes

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering or related degree program or equivalent work experience
    • Security+ certification
    • 5+ years of IT engineering experience supporting projects and systems of similar size, scope and technical complexity to those supported under this contract.
    • Working knowledge of Veritas NetBackup and automated tape library systems
    • Working knowledge of a combination of Linux, Unix, or Windows Operating Systems
    • Ability to participate on 24x7 on-call team (rotating schedule).
    • Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of tools (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc).

      

    REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    • This position is open to US citizens only per contract requirements and requires applicants to successfully obtain a NACI (National Agency Check w/ Inquiries) prior to start date.

    • Strong customer service and consultation skills
    • Must be flexible, intuitive and self-motivated
    • Work hours are consistent but occasional ad hoc requirements necessitate flexible hours
    • Experience with Quantum tape libraries
    • Experience with HP StoreOnce
    • Experience with Veritas NetBackup Appliances
    • Experience with VMware products (vSphere 5 and newer)
    • Experience with NetApp/3PAR storage arrays
    • Experience with Cisco/Brocade SAN switches
    • Experience with server hardening and security implementation strategies
    • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
    • Familiarity with CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL and ksh/sh scripting
    • Familiarity with DOD STIG requirements
