    ZANTECH IS LOOKING FOR A TALENTED COMPUTER SYSTEMS SPECIALIST TO SUPPORT OUR FEDERAL CLIENT.

     The Computer Systems Specialist to serve as the on-site liaison between the Data Center Operations and Engineering (DCO&E)  teams .  Duties will include asset management functions which includes full lifecycle tracking management of physical IT assets.  Duties will also include being the remote hands for the  Data Floor Team to install, move, and decommission IT hardware from the data floor to include all associated cabling requirements.  The position will work closely with the DCO&E to implement and follow established data center processes. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Administer hardware, software and documentation of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems
    • Ensure quality assurance and accuracy of the DCIM configuration management data
    • Install infrastructure cabling (Cat5, Fiber Optic, etc.) to industry standards and customer specifications
    • Install servers, switches and other IT devices in data center racks
    • Follow work-flow processes to ensure accuracy of configuration management data
    • Troubleshoot and repair infrastructure cabling as required
    • Automate and refine processes while following data center best practices
    • Work with outside stakeholders to carry out large scale, complex data center projects
    • Lead independent projects
    • Travel to support remote sites when necessary
    • Shipping and receiving support
    • Maintaining property tag information
    • Updating Oracle database with asset changes
    • Conducting quarterly and yearly floor-to-record inventory audits

    REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a NACI or higher per contract requirements.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • AS or BS in IT related field preferred, but years of experience and/or industry certifications may be used in place of degree.
    • Requires a Security + Certification within six months of employment
    • Three (+) years of experience in an IT related field  
    • Working knowledge of Server and Network hardware installation
    • Knowledge of DCIM systems, tools and practices
    • Knowledge of Data Floor operations and support
    • Experience installing, terminating and certifying Cat-5e network cabling
    • Experience installing, terminating and certifying Fiber-Optic cable
    • Knowledge of Data Center Operations and best practices
    • Experience installing servers or other data center related hardware in server/network cabinets
    • Experience using automated incident management system such as Remedy
    • Experience using Oracle databases
    • Strong background in configuration management
    • Experience/knowledge of asset management practices
    • Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, Visio, etc)
    • Ability to travel periodically 
    • Work as part of an integrated team with team members that are both locally and remotely located

    • Ability to maintain flexible work hours (work hours are consistent but occasional ad hoc requirements may necessitate flexible hours)
    • Work within a matrix organization to support priority initiatives even those outside primary area of responsibility
