    What this role is As a Product Designer for ZenBusiness, you’ll synthesize user needs, business goals, analytics, visual layout, interaction design, and technology into thoughtful user experiences. You will be designing across both web and mobile spaces.

    You'll be in a close partnership with high-caliber designers, product managers, and development leaders.  Together, you will set a vision for both short and long-term products (North Stars). You’ll get to design compelling tools that are intuitive, thoughtful, simple, delightful.

    Designing a great user experience requires someone that is a strong communicator, presenter, and facilitator. At ZB we expect a humble yet confident approach to design.

    Day in the life

    • Work as a team with product managers and engineers, executing on the delivery of crucial features.
    • Get to know our customers, attend your team meetings, and keep your team up to speed with what you are designing.
    • Prototype ideas and get them in front of internal stakeholders and users so you can iterate towards the best solutions.
    • Participate with the design team in creating a common UI Kit and design language
    • Work with developers to negotiate the best final design possible, with all of the fine details, gets built.
    • Strive for cross-team consistency by contributing to and leveraging a design system
    • Participate and lead design reviews help others learn and drive consistency across product spaces

    A successful Product Designer candidate:

    Might set you apart

    • You have a design super-power which we could leverage: illustration, typography, hand-lettering, event speaking etc.
    • Design sprints! Led or been part of a design sprint and understand how to go wide before honing in on a solution.
    • You have built or managed design system components

    Musts

    • Must have an online portfolio that represents your latest greatest work. Must show examples of product design flows with a high level of craftsmanship.
    • Craft should be important to you. Foundational skills such as information design, typography, color, layout, interface specifications, visual design, information design, interaction design, and prototyping skills.
    • Must have experience designing responsive web or native mobile products.
    • Must have proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Principle, Flinto, Adobe Suite, or similar design, wire-framing, and prototyping tools.
    • Must understand how to apply scientific thinking to your work, transforming business problems into user delightful and even magical designs.
    • Must enjoy meeting the users of your products and finding out how they use your products and other possible areas of opportunity.
    • Must be a good presenter of your ideas
    • Must be capable of creating basic UX artifacts such as personas, wire-frames, site-maps, journey-maps, and story-boards.
    • Participate or lead in design brainstorming and feedback sessions
    • Must be comfortable interviewing customers and reacting to feedback
    • Must have led or participated in design critiques (for sr. roles)
    • Must have moderated basic user feedback sessions (for sr. roles)
    • Must have lead design sessions such as sprints (for sr. roles)
    • Must have at least 3 years of experience in a team environment

    May

    • May have experience working in a testing and learning environment such as agile or scrum
    • May bring a systemic point of view to problem-solving, yet know how to isolate specific design issues and opportunities.
    • May have experience creating marketing materials
    • May have some experience writing UI code with a basic understanding of how pages are structured.
    • May have some experience creating motion graphics using After Effects and exporting using Lottie
    • May have some experience editing or creating React components and Storybook experience.
