    WHO WE ARE:

Zendar is creating a high-resolution radar imaging system that has resolution similar to lidar, allowing cars to see in inclement weather. We are a team of electrical, mechanical, software engineers and researchers developing the next generation radar technology. We want to change the role of radar in the autonomous driving sensor stack and demonstrate that radars can take on many of the functions of lidar at a much lower cost and in all weather conditions.

Zendar was founded in the San Francisco Bay area, at the very heart of one of the most advanced regions in the development of autonomous vehicles technologies. We also opened an office in South Germany to capitalize on the decades of experience in the automotive radar industry of the area, and are setting up a new office in Paris.

Zendar has a diverse and dynamic team of electrical, mechanical, RF, algorithms and software engineers with deep background in sensing technology. Zendar is backed by Tier-1 VCs, has raised more than $25M in funding and has established strong partnerships with industry leaders.

    WHO YOU ARE:

We are looking for senior engineers for our team to build the next iteration of our sensor platform. We are tackling work on several fronts, from optimizing the device's high-speed data path to designing a flexible hardware and software interface that can adapt to each of our customers' scenarios. We ship our systems across the world and we need a scalable answer for monitoring and updating these systems in the field. We nerd out about automation which is why we are building out a hardware-in-the-loop test harness to integrate with our CI.

To summarize, we are turning the corner from project to product and we are looking for engineers who are hungry to own these problems and drive answers.

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

    • Experience with C++14 or newer, as we use this in our real-time devices.
    • You should have strong fundamentals for multi-threaded programming.
    • We don't see perfect solutions, but the ability to assess tradeoffs is key.
    • We'll be impressed if you can think in terms of scale and production.

    BONUS POINTS:

    • Some Python or Javascript experience isn't required but it wouldn't hurt either.
    • We work with radars, lidars, and GPS/IMUs so exposure to these and other automotive sensors is a plus.
    • We are very interested in candidates with previous experience working with and optimizing GPU workloads.
    • We use embedded linux on our devices, but if you've used another POSIX system it will look familiar enough.
    • Track record of mentoring and growing junior team members will be highly preferred.

    TANGIBLES & INTANGIBLES:

    • Huge opportunity to own your work. Our small, cross-functional team makes your contribution highly visible.
    • Competitive salary. The range for this position is $140-227k annually.
    • Performance based Bonus.
    • Equity at an early valuation price.
    • The usual benefits: health, vision, dental, life and accident coverage, 401k, unlimited PTO.
    • Hybrid work model: in office 3 days per week, the rest... work from wherever!
    • Daily catered lunches from Forkable when working in the Berkeley CA office. Yum.
