    Job Description

    Global Trade Marketing dba Ziglift Material Handling is one of the nation’s leading independent Storage Solutions companies. Ziglift has five branch locations in four states (CA, AZ, MS, TX) that specializes in providing innovative and cost-effective storage solutions for our customers. We have an immediate opening for a HR Generalist that will support day-to-day operations for all Human Resources related responsibilities.

    THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS KEY ROLE ARE:

    · Assist in developing, implementation and management personnel procedures and policies, and provides strategy guidance for business operations

    · Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies & procedures as required

    · Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs

    · Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience, including updating the Employee Handbooks as required

    Human Resource Generalist duties include but are not limited to:

    · Prepare, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, including entering data into PayChex completely & accurately and coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience

    · Performs recruiting duties for all open positions and liaisons with temporary agencies as necessary; including creation of job advertisement, interviewing and presenting qualified candidates for senior management’s review & approval

    · Provide an effective HR advisory service to all employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters

    · Acts as a liaison for employee programs and benefits (e.g. health, 401(k), performance management, incentives, etc.). Responsible for the annual open enrollment including working with our benefits broker

    · Process payroll: bi-weekly (Hourly) and semi-monthly (Salaried) payments, updates to employee files, bonus / incentive pay, tracking vacation / sick & other pay, validating hourly employee timecards, and benefit changes

    · Review, update and communicate the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart

    · Prepare Job Descriptions and pay ranges for all positions

    · Work directly with our external consultants: Insurance Broker to effectively manage our Workers Comp Claims and Financial Advisor for our 401(k) plan

    · Plan the company’s annual social events – picnic, Thanksgiving, Christmas and other employee recognition events.

    · Supports all sites (Santa Fe Springs CA Headquarters, Rialto CA, Surprise AZ, Southaven MS, Dallas, TX) and all employee & management levels in the company

    · Ensure required training is completed annually or as needed

    · Manage Workers Comp and safety situations

    · Perform routine reporting functions as needed to support the business.

    · Recommends and administers corrective action plans; ensures forms are completed per policy and in compliance with all applicable laws.

    EXPERIENCE

    · Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources with progressive duties around employee relations, recruiting, benefits, payroll, compensation, and training required

    · Knowledge of California HR law required, and multi-state experience is required

    · Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness

    · Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies

    · Prior Construction, Distribution or Warehousing Experience is a Plus

    · Knowledge and implementation of Safety programs is a plus

    REQUIREMENTS

    · Bilingual, fluent in Spanish

    · Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field

    · Additional HR training or Certifications are a plus

    · Prior experience with a 3rd Party Payroll System (PayChex or ADP) is required

    · The ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritized in a fast passed environment

    · Proficient with MS Office MS Word & Excel are required, QuickBooks is preferred
