    HealthFitness has a great new opportunity for a CARDIAC/SPECIAL POPULATIONS PROGRAM COORDINATOR at our client site located in Lynn, MA. In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring special population and cardiac fitness members enrolled in the program. You will conduct health screenings, sub maximal testing, and perform strength and flexibility testing, body composition testing for challenged members with metabolic, cardio, pulmonary disorders and diseases. You will also be responsible for outcome reporting, some group exercise instruction and opening of facility on most days. You will assist other team members in creating participation and incentive programs. In this position you will report directly to the program manager.

     

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Leads cardiac and special populations programs, responsible for programming creation, communication within and outside the plant, marketing, follow up and participation.
    • Conducts fitness testing: Enrolls new fitness center participants, evaluates participants’ cardio-respiratory and muscular conditioning through non-invasive (non-medical, anthropometric) measurements, determines participants’ interests and goals, and advises participants of physiological test results. Focuses on but not solely limited to Cardiac Fitness and special populations participants.
    • Prescribes exercise programs during orientation appointments: Instructs participants regarding proper exercise techniques, use of fitness equipment, and fitness concepts (i.e., attaining suggested heart rate).
    • Maintain database of participant activity for Cardiac Fitness and special populations programs: Utilization, exercise frequency, changes in physiological conditioning, injury or illness incidents at the facility, and membership payroll deductions and/or fee payments. (Assessments, Medical Consults, HHQs, Medications, Lipid Profiles, etc.)
    • Instructs Group Exercise Classes.
    • Designs and develops outcomes focused programs and interventions including data collection and evaluation process; delivers personalized services and other programs to participants as applicable.
    • Coordinates marketing and communications to maximize program engagement for both onsite and virtual programming, bringing in HealthFitness Corporate support as appropriate. Ensure that both client and Healthfitness standards and requirements are used/meet on all marketing materials and communications. Create professional standards for all marketing materials to ensure highest quality and professionalism for both onsite and virtual audiences.
    • Maintains accurate records and ensures confidentiality of data collected during health assessment and health promotion/membership activities in accordance with HealthFitness requirements, including if applicable file transfer, processes, collaborating with related suppliers and/or storage. Ensures compliance is in place for all virtual programs by making sure all waivers and forms are completed.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned.

     

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:

     

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience.
    • Minimum 2+ years related industry experience.
    • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute (if not current will be required within 30 days of hire).
    • Industry recognized Group Exercise Certification ACE, AFAA, ACSM or NETA (if not current will be required within 90 days).
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
    • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription.
    • Ability to teach a variety of group exercise class formats.
    • Strong technical skills with proven ability to use and teach on different virtual platforms, technical savvy to think fast and troubleshoot issues.
    • Proven ability to build rapport and establish relationships remotely and in-person.
    • Strong presentation skills and professionalism.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written and on camera.
    • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is a condition of employment.

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Personal Training industry certification from ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NSCA, or NASM.
    • Master’s Degree and ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist.
    • Experience with diverse worksite environments / employees.

    Zero to three years of entry level Human Resource experience Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing. Ability to confidentially handle a variety of employee information with the highest of integrity. Strong Microsoft Office literacy and ability to learn new applications quickly and thoroughly. Bilingual Spanish/English skills is a plus. Must have excellent English communication skills.
