    Job Description

    PAYROLL AND BENEFITS SPECIALIST LOCATION: Union, NJ PAY RATE: 60k - 70k DOE Monday – Friday We currently have an outstanding career opportunity with a care center providing crisis intervention and support in the mental health space. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist position manages payroll process in ADP WFN and performs accounting-related tasks, and is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and retirement plans. PAYROLL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data. Typically uses automated system (ADP WFN) to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
    • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, paid-time-off (PTO) accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management.
    • Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support.
    • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.

    BENEFITS MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
    • Conducts new-hire orientation benefits and payroll portion.
    • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
    • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
    • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
    • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
    • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, STD disability and FMLA.
    • Effectively interprets STD, FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 2+ years experience in HR payroll systems and related software programs, and benefits administration.
    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel
    • Proficiency in use of Payroll Systems such as ADP WFN.
    • Prior customer service experience.
