    JOB SUMMARY

    The Payroll Manager will manage both the processing of biweekly and semi-monthly payroll for Ziply Fiber using Infinium in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as the company-wide commission programs in compliance with plan documents. This includes managing and supporting a team of three individuals as their escalation point for issues identified and performing any related research necessary that arise in a professional and timely manner. This role is the key liaison between HR, accounting, and key business owners throughout the organization.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range of duties performed by the employee and not intended to reflect all duties performed.

    • Oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing supporting a team of two who perform the regular payroll tasks
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of commission processing supporting a team of one who performs regular commission tasks using the Xactly platform.
    • Manage and coordinate all third party relationships that are integral to our processing (ADP, DDI, Infinium consultants, Xactly, Bank of America, etc.)
    • Key leader in potential new payroll system implementation in January 2022. Will be a key member of team responsible for evaluating, selecting, and implementing chosen go-forward payroll platform
    • Responsibility for reconciling payroll related balances within our financial records
    • Responsibility for internal reporting to various stakeholders including FP&A and management teams.
    • Ensure development and growth of team members by identifying growth opportunities and providing necessary support for successful completion of the opportunities
    • Identify and implement process improvements and set the direction and goals for the payroll and commissions group
    • Available to answer and research complex payroll related issues with employees, human resources, accounting and legal
    • Responsible for upholding Ziply Fiber Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 7+ years’ experience in payroll processing preferred with 2+ years of management experience
    • Experience with Time and Attendance (T&A) systems is required, CAT’s preferred
    • Must have experience with Payroll software; experience with Infinium preferred
    • Experience with responsibility for performing month-end reconciliations of payroll related account balances to support financial records
    • Commission processing experience is preferred but not required
    • Experience with processing payroll for union based groups preferred
    • High level of confidentiality is required
    • Demonstrated excellence in problem solving and follow up necessary to resolve problems

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
    • Must have the proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet or exceed deadlines
    • Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of situations
    • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules.
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office setting.
