    THE ROLE

    We are looking for an experienced Area Manager to organize and oversee the operations of a number of retail stores on the West Coast. You will assume responsibility for the overall success of the stores by setting targets and managing our store supervisors, store associates, and mechanics. In this role you have the opportunity to shape how we run our growing retail footprint in LA and on the West Coast. You will be working hand in hand with the California GM to roll out processes in our shops as we grow. You will also be coordinating with our global operations team and contribute to our strategy for growing the retail footprint across the US.

    • You will oversee daily operations of our West Coast network of retail stores (LA, SF)
    • You will define KPIs and monitor and report on workshop and retail performance including analyzing sales and revenue reports and make forecasts, develop and roll-out sales tools
    • Our store staff will report to you, you will be managing their performance and helping them to provide world-class customer service, increase their sales capacity and enable them to solve day to day problems
    • We are growing and need to prepare our retail and store processes for scale, you will continually implement and optimize these processes to enable business growth and improve operations
    • You will ensure that our team is delivering and that compliance, company policies, and regulation are being adhered to. Occasionally you will complete audits including compiling action plans and reports
    • You will plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays
    • Our retail network is growing on the West Coast, you will support the California GM to identify new sites and get them ready to launch

    REQUIREMENTS

    Skills:

    • Proven experience as area manager, store manager, assistant manager or similar managerial role
    • Knowledge of performance evaluation metrics and principles
    • Sound understanding of optimization of store operations and standards for success
    • Knowledge of retail management best practices
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Excellent organizing and leadership skills
    • Commercial awareness
    • Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles
    • Knowledge of retail management software
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
    • Team leadership and performance management
    • Project management know the basics of managing multiple projects and stakeholders in a structured and logical way

    Attributes:

    • 6-8 years of experience
    • Track record of getting things done and rapid high-quality decisions (knowing when you have enough insight to make-a-call and apply the 80 / 20 rule)
    • Analytical - Able to think big as well as execute on-the-fly
    • Strategic thinker - Can stay one step ahead when thinking about the impact of the changes
    • Adaptable fixer - enthusiastic, flexible & adaptable with the ability to remove barriers & bottlenecks via facilitation, creativity & resourcefulness.
    • Can build stuff - approaches, processes, tools and change methodologies
    • Inquisitive - infectiously curious, thoughtful and happy to question the status-quo
