    Job Description

    The Regional Inventory & Quality Control Manager leads and manages the inventory planning and control for the Dallas region, as well as quality assurance for all areas of the Chicago, IL fulfilment service center. This position provides the appropriate level of support, training, system maintenance and communication to drive regional SIOP processes. It is also responsible for managing the processes of analyzing the site’s operating methods and procedures and identifying and root causing quality defects. This individual has direct leadership for Inventory Control and Quality Assurance teams across both sites.  This position will be located at the Chicago Service Center, which is located in Bensenville, IL,

    This person will be a key leader within the Regional fulfillment team and will report up to the Director of Fulfillment & Operations, East Region.  This position will be responsible for managing and leading a team to execute the responsibilities as noted above.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    REGIONAL INVENTORY CONTROL MANAGEMENT (RICM) RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops and implements material resource plan to enhance product flow, optimize order fulfillment, and minimize inventory investment while consistently meeting customer expectations. (SIOP)
    • Coordinates logistics activities with internal/external customers to meet demand requirements and align delivery expectations.
    • Interface with suppliers, manufacturing facilities, regional service centers and sales rep warehouses to align channel supply with customer demand.
    • Minimize excess and obsolete inventory within the regional channel.
    • Plan for and identify root causes of inventory deviation, via cause and effect analysis

    INVENTORY CONTROL & QUALITY ASSURANCE (ICQA) MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

    • Leadership for all inventory, control, and quality assurance operation activities within the warehouse.
    • Lead inventory control activities including transactions, material movement and staging, cycle counting, and overall material accuracy.
    • Lead and supervise a team of ICQA associates within the service centers. Build team chemistry and develop associates for future roles in the business.
    • Ensure KPIs are managed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and perform control and quality analysis on any behaviors/processes that could impact inventory integrity.
    • Gain expertise in key fulfilment service center process paths, as well as exception handling; ensure that process discipline is adhered to across all shifts and departments.
    • Coordinate inventory control maintenance and random counts in accordance with network count strategies, ensuring compliance and consistency with SOX.
    • Review and analyze customer complaints and any defect data, followed by development of corresponding action plans to reduce future incidents.
    • Collaborrate with Operations Managers & Regional Inventory Control Managers to insure that inventory is accurate and fill rates are meeting expectations.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or related field (preferred)
    • Previous Inventory Control and Quality Assurance Management experience
    • 5+ years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with assignments in lean manufacturing/continuous improvement tools and processes
    • Experience with implementing and maintaining material pull systems a plus
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Strong commitment to employee development and engagement
    • Experience with Axapta system performing complex transactions a plus
    • Good writing/administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, Minitab, etc.).
    • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
    • Team oriented with the ability to influence others
