    ZypMedia is looking for a VP of Engineering who is self motivated, problem solver and passionate about building scalable real time systems. ZypMedia's platform processes 100billion ad calls every day making a decision every 100ms to determine which ad to show to which user at what time.

    At the core we are a Demand Side Platform augmented with automation tools that allows us to uniquely address the local advertising market. Machine Learning and AI allow us to solve some of the challenges in Local Advertising space. ZypMedia is a leader in the OTT product and technology space (top 3 buying platforms in the US for OTT). ZypMedia's omni-channel and programmatic platform leverages massive amounts of data using AI and machine learning, enabling the quickest and most intelligent online ad space bidding in real time, 24/7. We leverage both public cloud and managed data centers around the world to maximize the return on every marketing dollar spent by our customers. ZypMedia is seeking a leader to transform our engineering culture, to grow and develop our people, and to build the greatest tech possible. From the definition of a strategy through the execution of it, you will develop, collect, and report the objective metrics required to assure it. You will be responsible for driving employee engagement and productivity across Engineering and you will develop a health index, aligned to organization and employee goal attainment including accountability and results against expectations. What you'll do

    • Train, develop, coach and mentor the Engineering and Engineering Team Lead staff
    • Lead the development, establishment, and application of measures and best practices for people growth and development
    • Build out the metrics that matter to determine promotion or mobility readiness
    • Identify factors in influence and visibility, which assess the real health of the team
    • Create a positive culture to maximize productivity and minimize attrition
    • Utilize performance review cycles to reiterate expectations and discuss methods to achieve and exceed them
    • Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product development process for software engineering
    • Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of Engineering
    • Plan and implement systems and processes to fulfill the mission and the goals of the Engineering efficiently and effectively
    • Plan and allocate resources to effectively meet departmental productivity and quality goals
    • Drive business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and aligned to the execution of our vision and strategy
    • Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor and ensure the success of the team

    Background

    • Master's degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science or higher preferred.
    • 5+ years of managing and developing (ideally service oriented!) Engineering teams in large scale, highly transactional environments
    • Years of hands-on Engineering experience delivering enterprise-class, highly distributed, software solutions in Agile environments with an ability to influence, build credibility and bring a strong POV to Engineering groups [as opposed to deep technical execution]
