    Description of Duties:

    The Publications Technical Writer will support all facets of the Medicaid program related to provider communication, internal operating procedure manuals, and other communication as directed. This position also requires a strong rapport with the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning and all internal departments on the account to ensure timely and accurate flow of information. The individual will have good time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects is required. Additionally, this position requires the ability to analyze requests and resolve using the various tools available.

    Desired Skills and Essential Functions:

    • Reviews all written material for conformance to style-guide standards.
    • Edits documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity and format
    • Manages documentation project schedule.
    • Maintains documentation inventory using an automated documentation management system, to include WEB publications for both internal and external documentation.
    • Develops and follows documented procedures for deliverables and maintenance of publications to include procedures for changing, reviewing, and maintaining version control.
    • Develops documentation that conforms to the approved standard and meets planned deadlines.
    • Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.
    • Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input.
    • Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
    • Able to perform more varied and difficult tasks.
    • Able to work in a collaborative team environment to obtain the best results.
    • Work as a topmost trusted partner with aFit and the client.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and/or 2-4 years related experience.
    • Strong communication skills with advanced writing skills.
    • Advanced to expert-level experience with Microsoft applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Experience/knowledge of accessibility requirements for Section 508 Compliance
    • Meets technical writing experience requirements.
    • Experience with an automated document management system.
    • Ability to work with others to translate business requirements into standard, formatted documentation.
