  • Responsibilities

    The Process Mechanic I is responsible for planning facilities changes for plant, office and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment and compliance with laws and regulations. This individual reviews and estimates design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. The Process Mechanic I develops criteria and performance specifications for facilities and equipment required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes. Please note this is a Second Shift position (2:00pm - 10:30pm).

    _ *_ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Responsible for facilities equipment start up and repairs
    • Coordinates and manages trade labor and contractors
    • Handles grounds maintenance, including snow removal and managing the snow plows
    • Responsible for mechanical service calls and in-house repairs for the facility

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required.
    • Minimum 0-2 years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment is required.
    • Experience working in a FDA regulated operation, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology area is preferred.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong attention to technical detail
    • Strong mechanical, electrical and process hands on capabilities
    • Demonstrates appropriate safety consciousness

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • Average computer skills with basic knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    • none required

    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
    • Motivated and hard working
    • Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment
    • Must be dependable, flexible and available to work overtime and other shifts as needed

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Requires physical activity such as standing for long periods of time, walking, and working with hands
    • This position requires minimum travel. Average travel for this position is less than 10% with some variation based upon the demands of the business imperative
