    SUMMARY

    The UX Designer creates innovative, functional, and artful user experiences to advance customers’ brands, products, and services. Using current trends, tools, and techniques, the Designer delivers enterprise level interactive solutions for desktop and mobile platforms. By understanding user needs, the Designer successfully translates and architects high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts. The UX Designer uses creative ideas and innovative thought to design beautiful, intuitive, and functional interfaces for end-users.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with designers, product management, and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
    • Execute all visual design stages from initial concept to final hand-off to engineering
    • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
    • Create wireframes, storyboards, user journeys, process flows and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas that are on message with project goals requirements
    • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
    • Conduct user research and evaluate and analyze user feedback and data
    • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.     • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Five or more years’ user interface experience including prior agency experience. Demonstrated UX/UI design skills including a strong portfolio. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
    • TECHNICAL SKILLS: Experience creating wireframes, storyboards, user journeys, process flows, and site maps. Proficiency in Sketch, InVision, or other visual design and wire-framing tools. Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction. Demonstrated knowledge of current UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
    • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write and speak English language effectively. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, clients and the general public.
    • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work must be completed at a computer workstation for long periods of time. The position frequently requires working at a fast pace. The employee must be able to communicate orally and electronically with others. The employee must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee must be able to see, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, bend and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

     

    PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

    4 year Bachelors Degree (B.S., B.A., B.F.A) or other certification in Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or other related field.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Work is completed in a typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderately quiet.

     

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS

    Employee reports to the Director of User Experience. Position is classified as Non-Exempt under FLSA and California law. The employee is expected to adhere to all Company policies.
