blueriver is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work on exciting projects for a very impressive client roster. As a digital agency, we move fast so you will need the ability to learn quickly & work in a close-knit team environment. You will work with the Lead Engineer to develop solutions for a multitude of enterprise-level clients, and be an active participant in your project and team's success. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designing and developing solutions based on business needs or project specifications.
• Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements.
• Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS.
• Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code.
• Communicating with project managers, team leads and/or leadership to report task progress, roadblocks or other updates as needed.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems.
• Fixing bugs and responding to client support tickets.
• Explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Documenting final product solutions for client knowledge.
• Occasionally presenting to internal or external stakeholders.
• Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 3-5 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3).
• Expertise using CloudFormation (or similar) for configuration management.
• A solid foundation of networking and Linux administration.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Deadline and detail-oriented.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

BONUS:

• Previous startup or agency experience would be a huge plus.
• Latent desire and/or curiosity in a related domain like software development, front-end engineering, security, or project management.
