    INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

    Canoo's Internship Program is designed to provide a robust and meaningful experience that includes high impact, business-relevant, hands-on project with well-dened goals and deliverables. Interns will have access to professional development and mentorship, leadership exposure, and immersion activities. Interns will work directly with assigned team throughout the internship.

    The Internship Program is a premier twelve to sixteen-week program focused on preparing graduate and undergraduate students' for product-facing consultative internships. Paid internship positions will start in June through end of August. All Intern applicants must be a registered, full-time student at a college or university.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    The Engineering and Operations Teams consist of Mechanical, CAE and Manufacturing engineers, Program Managers, and Procurement Specialists. The team is responsible for executing all tasks necessary to deliver the vehicle across all build phases. Projects range from ground-up vehicle builds to evaluating new components and technologies. The work environment is fast-paced and demanding with very high expectations for individual contribution.

    The person selected for this role will work on a variety of multidisciplinary projects and will play a critical role serving Engineering, Program Management and Procurement.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND GOALS:

    • Manage prototype build phase and drive multiple projects through to completion. You will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, documenting, and automating key business processes.
    • Detailed CAD design of parts and subassemblies, hands-on prototyping and integration of components along with a wide range of interdisciplinary activities to support prototype builds.
    • Develop new tools to aid in the selection of mechanical fasteners and joint validation.
    • Responsible for tracking costs, maintaining budgets, sourcing status, and key milestones.
    • Exposure to issuing and evaluating RFQs, resolving commercial issues and complex negotiations, developing commodity strategies and overall supplier management.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

    • Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program or related field.
    • Model components and assemblies in CAD (Solidworks, CATIA V5, CATIA V6 or similar and a willingness to learn CATIA V6).
    • Hands-on experience, previous internship and/or project experience is preferred.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, database management.
