    The position leads advanced manufacturing activities by working closely with Design and Engineering in the early development of the product and ensuring its manufacturing feasibility.

    The role will also work closely with the production equipment integrators and process engineers at the contract manufacturers developing processes that are technically challenging and require significant technical process parameter development and deep understanding of the design.  Specific areas of expertise around body structures process development and sequencing, joining dissimilar metals, laser welding, early stage process development, process characterization, Design of Experiment, and process validation.

    The role supports the design, development, and deployment of equipment from prototype though to release into production including responsibility for manufacturing processes, equipment and defining methods of verification of the output of the process.

    Additionally, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering works with engineering teams and manufacturing teams, to establish strategic and tactical priorities and key objectives, and monitors organization performance.

    KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and or applicable manufacturing experience.

    8+ years of experience in design and development of products within manufacturing specifically Body Structures.

    Extensive experience in the automotive industry highly preferred.

    Experience driving technical supplier engagements and results with respect to improvement projects, change management and quality.

    Experience with Batteries, Powertrain, BIW, Metal forming and metal joining applications. WHAT'S COOL ABOUT WORKING HERE...
