    JOB PURPOSE

    LV components team is responsible for concept, design and releasing various low voltage components that are critical in functioning of the Canoo electric car. As a growing team, we are looking to add an experienced Design Release Engineer (DRE) to support our LV team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Understanding and documenting requirements of various LV components within the 12V power distribution system such as the low voltage battery, sensors, cables, terminal, and other devices as necessary
    • Working closely with all internal and external suppliers and groups to ensure a successful product launch
    • Conceptualizing and CAD designing
    • Running preliminary analysis- CAE, numerical analysis  
    • Managing budget and schedule of components to ensure compliance to overall company goals
    • Gathering requirements from sub-system owners and decompose into component requirements
    • Understand all technical and regulatory requirements for the component
    • Responsible for ensuring the component meets all requirements
    • Responsible for ensuring the component completes all necessary test and validation steps
    • Having a deep understanding of the internal electro-mechanical workings of the component and supporting troubleshoot during the integration with the vehicle, and test and validation phase

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS/MS in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering with 2+ years of automotive experience
    • Solid understanding of Mechanical Design with previous hands on work
    • 3+ year of experience with CAD tools (CATIA V6 preferred)
    • Experience with automotive communication methods like CAN, LIN is a plus
    • Fundamental understanding of electronics, software, mechanical, and UI/UX considerations
    • Strong analytical skills, excellent communications skills and take ownership to deliver results
    • Demonstrated organizational and planning experience
    • Broad understanding of multiple domains involved in electronics and communication devices
