    CHEVO is hiring an experienced Communications Team Lead to join our expanding firm. This position provides the opportunity for significant client interaction by learning the client’s business better than they know it and to become a trusted advisor.  Ideal candidates will demonstrate versatility in understanding and performing work related to a Federal Government Communications program. Position is located in Washington, DC.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    For a government Communications office, oversee a team of technical writers and graphics designers performing the following activities:

    • Communication Planning
    • Technical Writing and Editorial Services
    • Graphic Support
    • Website Publishing and Content Management
    • Event Planning

    Manage the review, tasking, staffing, and workload distribution of the communications team.

    Provide periodic status reports to the client on team progress (weekly, monthly, etc.).

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 7 years overall experience with a bachelor’s degree
    • At least 5 years of experience planning, executing and supervising expert communications strategies, efforts and products for a major government program
    • Experience coordinating the efforts of a team of communications professionals, including writers; graphic designers; event planners; and web developers
    • Previous experience developing communications products as a technical writer and/or graphics designer. Adept at managing the creation of communications products of multiple kinds including speeches/talking points, news and feature articles, newsletters, briefings, fact sheets, other graphical material (posters, brochures, charts and graphs, etc.).

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Previous experience managing team documentation in SharePoint
    • Previous experience managing web content for communications
