Chica Project is seeking a passionate and creative Media Fellow to join our Marketing team. This role is perfect for someone who loves photography and videography and excels at creating compelling visual content. As a Media Fellow, you will capture key moments at Chica Project program sessions and events, highlighting the impact of our work. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will collaborate closely with the team to enhance our organization's brand and outreach efforts, ensuring smooth internal operations. This fellowship opportunity is for the 2024-2025 academic year, starting on September 9, 2024 and ending late June 27, 2025. This is a paid opportunity.
About You
Chica Project is seeking a creative and mission-driven individual with a positive attitude to join our Marketing team as a Media Fellow. You will play a critical role in capturing and showcasing the essence of our work, contributing significantly to the empowerment of young Latinas and women of color. This opportunity will allow you to gain valuable experience in the nonprofit sector, develop your photography and videography skills, and connect with a powerful network of women in Massachusetts and beyond. Further qualifications Include:
- Proficiency in photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
- Excellent attention to detail and a creative eye for capturing compelling images.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to attend events during evenings and weekends as needed.
- Passion for Chica Project 's mission and a desire to contribute to the empowerment of young Latinas and women of color.
- Residency in or near the Greater Boston Area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in photography and videography; a portfolio showcasing your work is required.
- Ownership of a camera or a smartphone capable of taking professional-grade photos and videos.
- A great sense of humor and a love of continuous learning.
- Experience working with communities of color and grassroots organizations, with an understanding of systemic oppressions.
- Multilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole preferred).
Responsibilities:
The position will be mainly responsible for the following areas, but duties can expand beyond central responsibilities of:
- Attend Chica Project program session and other relevant events in the Greater Boston Area to capture high-quality photos and videos.
- Ensure all visual content aligns with Chica Project 's branding and messaging guidelines.
- Edit photos and videos to produce professional content for our marketing channels.
- Manage and organize the digital media archive for easy access and retrieval.
