    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Community Outreach and Marketing Specialist is responsible for the execution of the overall practice community outreach plans. General areas of responsibility include contact by phone, mail and onsite visits to patients, physicians and businesses utilizing the established systems of the Physician Referral Program and Recall Program. This person will present her/himself professionally to give accurate information about the practice and our services while ensuring that a healthy relationship results in increased opportunity flow and outside referrals to the practice and document all plans and contacts. In addition, the Community Outreach Specialist will assist multiple positions and locations with a high degree of tactical support for projects and campaigns aimed at supporting and developing the business.

    PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Marketing

    · Provide tactical marketing support for the Practice.

    · Provide design and fulfillment assistance for business collateral.

    · Coordinate direct mailings, print ad placements, and other marketing initiatives.

    · Track all marketing activities and the results.

    · Ensure consistent implementation of Practice brand in all marketing materials.

    Physician Marketing

    · Maintain an effective physician database.

    · Make consistent contact with physicians and/or physician referral coordinators until a significant referral relationship is established or a determination made that no referrals will be provided by the physician group.

    · Contact targeted physicians to begin/maintain an ongoing relationship and referrals.

    · Write a weekly plan of all physician offices that should be contacted and document the outcome as well as the follow-up needed and report to the Physician Outreach Captain weekly.

    Grassroots Marketing

    · Discover and cultivate community relationships through local professional, social and not-for-profit organizations in the community. Such activities may include public presentations, health-fairs, etc.

    · Create a grass-roots activity calendar so that members of the Practice can participate in regular / annual events such as health-fairs, golf tournaments, city and county events, etc.

    · Develop the current business contacts to ensure better usage of the Practice for their hearing educational seminars and health fairs.

    · Develop contacts with new businesses and organizations to establish a network for referrals for community activities.

    · Write a weekly plan of all businesses that should be contacted and document the outcome as well as the follow-up needed.

    · Once a lecture/seminar/presentation is scheduled, Marketing and Outreach Specialist will be responsible for rentals, set up, assignment of providers/support staff, prepared collateral and overseeing the event.

    Miscellaneous Duties

    · Shows initiative in multi-tasking numerous demands such as telephone calls, letter writing, and documentation while able to be self-directed.

    · Communicates effectively and professionally with different referral sources and able to ask for referrals to the practice.

    · Presents self professionally and gives accurate information about the practice and services we have to offer.

    · Shows proficiency in Excel and Word software as well as a quick study in the practice’s software.

    · Demonstrates initiative and takes responsibility for own professional development.

    · Communicates professionally with staff.

    · Performs additional responsibilities as delegated.

    JOB SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

    · Must be a high school graduate

    · Prefer an Associate’s degree in administrative, accounting, sales or customer- oriented field or equivalent work experience

    · Must possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance

    · 2+ years of demonstrated sales and/or marketing or community outreach experience

    · Medical background is highly desirable

    · Self-motivated, self-directed, assertive, and demonstrated ability to meet goals

    · Excellent organizational and time management skills

    · Experience using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.

    · Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population

    · Must be able to be punctual, organize time, and manage multiple priorities

    · Requires the ability to deal with numerous interruptions.

    · Must deal with customers in a caring and respectful manner.

    · Must be detailed oriented.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

    · Frequently requires sitting, using hands, reaching and twisting

    · Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds with or without assistance

    · Frequently requires operation of a motor vehicle

    · Occasional standing and walking throughout the day

    · The work environment is generally quiet, with moderate noise from phones and other business office machines
