    Job Description

    The Resource Management Business Partner will partner with leadership, finance, operations, talent acquisition and HR to deliver operational excellence, efficiencies, and proactively manage supply and demand. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and negotiation skills and an understanding of finance fundamentals. The Resource Management Business Partner understands project requirements as well as employee skillsets, background, professional development and career goals and uses this information to help effectively balance supply and demand. The Resource Management Business Partner provides accurate and insightful reporting and analysis to leadership and project teams, identifying gaps, helping to resolve issues. The Resource Management Business Partner is responsible for assigning the right people to the right projects at the right time. He/she will manage capacity for resources and determine hiring needs based on project requirements.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Monitor utilization to target performance, investigate outliers and recommend plan for remediation
    • Identify instances of current and potential future over/under utilization and work with leadership to address issues and mitigate risk
    • Optimize utilization by making staffing decisions in support of the deployment strategy for the business
    • Drive placement of new college hire/intern assignments if applicable
    • Understand impacts of moving resources from account to account
    • Drive efficiency and workload balancing
    • Understand and communicate the impacts (financial, client relationship, skill) of applying one resource over another or removing a resource from work
    • Propose resources with current or near-term availability to project that align with their skills, professional goals, and/or staffing preferences
    • Resolve staffing conflicts to the satisfaction of all parties, which may include identifying creative staffing alternatives and negotiating with projects and resources
    • Escalate sensitive or high-risk staffing situations to leadership, as appropriate
    • Lead resource meetings to understand impacts to resource needs (new projects, timeline movement, etc.) and facilitate risk/issue mitigations
    • Maintain understanding of key resource management metrics and how these metrics impact practice financial performance
    • Proactively review staffing data and develop and communicate meaningful insights on trends, forecast, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern; provide suggestions for improvement
    • Liaison between Account, service line leadership, recruiting, HRBP, Operations for applicable supply and demand
    • Communicate and set expectations on resourcing issues that may impact scheduled deadlines or budget
    • POC for conflict resolution as it relates to resource needs, placements, allocations and shifts
    • Proactively engage with resources, gain meaningful understanding of their skills, experience and aspirations and identify the right opportunities for them
    • Influence leadership and resources to accept alternate staffing outcomes by articulating the value and long-term or “big picture” benefits
    • Continually review processes to help drive improvements and efficiencies
    • Advise leadership and resources on resource management processes
    • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners on forecasting and other analysis, as needed (US)
    • Provide Finance Business Partners with all relevant demand, utilization, project, and resource information that may impact financial forecasting (US)
    • Collaborate with Service Line & HRBPs to capture resource needs/changes for yearly Talent Planning
    • Identify need for freelance and external talent and work with Talent Acquisition to provide input and handle escalations
    • Own and manage resource requests by validating requirements and affordability, searching for candidates, and presenting candidates for consideration
    • Collaborate with other Resource Managers on the team and across dentsu to cross staff
    • Proactively reviews opportunity pipeline to create and understand the picture of upcoming demand
    • Collaborate and align with Operations Business Partners on PRA/pyramid plans related to resourcing
    • Provide financial detail and internal due diligence to Operations Business Partners when seeking external sourcing approval
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative tasks and system updates relating to supply and demand
    • Executes company policies and practices
    • HR Management responsibility for 1-3 Resource Managers and/or Resource Coordinators
    • Provides mentoring and career development for the employees he/she manages
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • At least 8 years of experience in sourcing and/or deploying professional staff, or 10 years professional experience in an agency setting
    • Data Analysis
    • Viewed as a trusted advisor with a successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels of the organization
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Detail oriented and organized; ability to prioritize and multitask
    • Strategic/tactical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Strong and persuasive presentation skills
    • Highly motivated self-starter, responsible, and accountable
    • Advanced leadership skills
    • Ability to manage a team of Resource Managers and/or Resource Coordinators
