Job Description
We are looking for a contracts manager with a background in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts to join our Legal team. This role would support the Partnerships organization at Block in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial terms related to API integrations between Block and its partners, and reports to the Commercial Contracts Lead for Partnerships.
You will:
Review, draft and negotiate partnerships agreements which may include: integration and development obligations, referral and revenue share commitments, joint marketing initiatives, technology licensing, consulting services, and non disclosure requirements.
Work as part of the Counsel team with other teams on a variety of legal matters with specific emphasis on partnering with attorneys to support executives and professionals in the partnerships organization
Work with members of the Counsel team to develop and improve applicable forms, processes and procedures
Employ innovative solutions to challenging legal and operational issues, in order to empower and enable the business while mitigating risk exposure to the organization and maintaining compliance with company directives.
Qualifications
You have:
Minimum of three years of contracts drafting and negotiation experience at technology companies or law firms
Expertise in drafting and negotiating various commercial, licensing and other technology related agreements, including Software as a Service, consulting, licensing, and non-disclosure agreements.
Analytical ability, project management experience, and ability to identify and explain contractual issues and requirements
A team-oriented style and can work in a distributed workforce
The ability to meet deliverables on time and work in an evolving and growing environment that is prone to changes
Familiarity with Google G-Suite, Docusign, Malbek, and/or other contract management and legal department management tools is a plus
